Anthony Michael Hall has told the LA Daily News he is playing a character in THE DARK KNIGHT for director Christopher Nolan.

In the interview Hall told the News, "I signed a confidentiality agreement, and I can't say which part I'm playing because it affects the story.  I can't give away the suspense — it's a $200 million surprise, and I don't want to be the guy to ruin it."

He will return to the KNIGHT set in August for more filming. The actor revealed, "They're shooting in London, Chicago and Hong Kong. My next dates are in Chicago, the third week of August with Morgan, then I get to go back to London."  He went on to note, "It's really a great role. I'm in throughout the whole movie, and I'm really looking forward to working with Christian and Morgan and all these real Hollywood heavy hitters."

ruined it already.

nah, just kidding. hope he's someone cool. since it's like a next summer sort of thing, I'm not going to ponder, worry, or wonder what sort of role he is. I'm sure it will slip at some point between now and then. I'd like to think he would be a cool JOKER himself, so maybe he's the ruse. the suspect. who knows? maybe he'll be someone corny like the RIDDLER, but nolan-ized and amped up. I just hope that whatever they do, they don't go from one-on-one (Batman to Joker) to something bloated with multiple villains and unruly storylines. it makes for a mess to tie up. whatever the $200 million dollar surprise, I hope it's a good one.

glad the Anthony Michael Hall is onboard. can't wait.

Its unlikely he plays a "costume" villain since he said his scenes involve Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman (guess this confirms he is in it). Although its kind of hard to imagine anyone else important enough to keep his role silent. Unless he is the real Joker and Heath Ledger isa fake, much like Ras al Ghul in the first film? I hope not.

I've heard from a reliable source that he portrays a man vying for the affections of Maggie Gylenhaal and needs to borrow her panties for 15 minutes.
