According to Moviehole, Halle Berry has signed on to star in the upcoming film, Who is Doris Payne.

The film is the true story of a woman who spent 75 years, at large, robbing precious stones.

Knicknamed the "Grandmother Thief", Doris Marie Payne's traits were well known to the police who were amazed at how easily she could distract shop assistants and simply walk away with her loot.

Eunetta T. Boone will write the script.

KJ's Take:  Did I mention how gorgeous Berry is?  Did anyone see the image of her I uploaded?  My lord ...

the ONLY reason I watched Catwoman? HALLE BERRY. I even watch now, just to see her. MMMMmmmmmm Berry in my Halle.

There is no reason or excuse to ever watch Catwoman. IMHO, I don`t think she`s all that hot. She`s pretty, yeah, but not drop dead.

I think she is attractive, but that costume is so ridiculous that it makes me laugh at her. Kinda looks like some bad porno outfit, but I do like Halle Berry as an actor, so I don't see any problems with this cast and kinda interested to see some more about this

I'm not a furry, myself, so no, this doesn't work for me. Not too excited about the film described here, either.

I always liked Halle Berry. Except in Sword Fish, that was just plain aweful for both actors. I don't care what people think Catwoman was one of her best films. One tinbit though, they should have stayed true to the Catwoman in the Batman universe. Nuth said.

Sorry, KJ, the pic doesn't do it for me. Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman however... rowr! "Who is Doris Payne" sounds great though. I am curious to see how this develops. As this is based on a true a woman who had a 75 year career of robbing precious stones, should we expect that this film is set in the time period where Berry's age takes affect? 50's, 60's? Or will they modernize it and have it take place in our time instead?

While I don't enjoy Catwoman circa Halle Berry...I don't deny that she's a hottie...I thought she was pretty good in the Bond film she was in... Michelle Pfeiffer....now that's another story altogether....and a happy one at that..... Still this should be interesting and it would be cool if it were to take place now versus then....it could be reason why she did it?

Halle's one of the great beauties of our time, and I think she's a great actress if given a good script and good direction to work with. She was terrific in Losing Isiah, Monster's Ball and Intro. Dorothy Dandridge. I even sat through Catwoman just because she was in the movie. Halle just shines on the big screen.
