Halle Berry on Storm Spin-Off

By: Karl Schneider
Date: Monday, May 15, 2006
Source: Black Film

In an interview with blackfilm.com, Halle Berry dropped a few interesting comments regarding X-Men and future comic book films.

A short recap goes something like this: Never doing a Storm spin off, never playing another superhero, she thinks Fox would do another sequel to X-Men.

The question asked by blackfilm.com regarding future X-Men movies could be considered somewhat of a spoiler, so be wary.

De-spolierfied the quote goes something like this: "If this is the end, which in my mind it probably is, I'm just really happy with the way it ended; and if [it] does well, Fox will do another one. It would be advantageous for them to do another one. I think they will if the fans love this one enough and enough people go see it and they all want it, I'm sure there will be another one."

So there you have it, right from the mouth of someone who has no say on if there will be another movie! Take it for what it is. There is a lot more Halle Berry info and a lot of good questions in the interview, you can find it here.

I do hope that they decide to do another trilogy. The X-men mythos is so large that there are so many idea that can be pulled from it and still be fresh and relevant.
I`m also damn glad that Halle isn`t going to do a Storm spin-off. That would only ruin my image of the character.

I like Ms. Berry as an actress (not to mention she's just so incredibly beautiful), and I'm hoping I'll enjoy Storm's expanded roll in the new X-Men film. Storm and Cyclops have been so underused in the films. If X3 does well, why wouldn't there be another film? There are so many characters in the X-Men universe, so why not bring in an all new team with maybe Wolverine and Storm (or other X-Men from the first three films) making cameos. In the first two movies, the kids have been growing up, so a new team of Peter, Bobby, Kitty, Rogue nd maybe Warren would work in a film.

Of course,if the movie does well there will be another trilogy, that's a given. There is a lot characters in the X-Verse with compelling stories to tell, other than Wolverine. I would'nt mind seeing a new animated X-series along the lines of the JLU.

What a tease that subject line was.

Just a tiny blurb about no Storm spinoff, which is obvious.

And then "if [it] does well, Fox will do another one". Well DUH!

Even without Wolverine and Storm there a plenty of great X-Men stories. I'm more curious to see how long Patrick Steward and Ian McKellen are willing (and able) to reprise their roles. When those two are on the screen it's pure gold.

"Do you know what to a toad when it gets struck by lightening?"

It gets the sh*t fried out of it.

In the first X-Men film, I wish Singer had made it obvious that Sabertooth knew Wolvie and hated him, even if Logan didn't remember him. He didn't even call him "runt". If the Wolvie standalone features Sabertooth, they'd better fix this, or I'll be writing some a strong-worded to Fox, wrapped inside a baby's diaper.

Sheesh, is it Monday already?

About 3 months from now Hally Berry will announce a Storm spin-off. Six months later they will redo her costume with a low cut tight leather outfit... oh yah... she'll suddenly develop a need for a whip... and cream... and... please don't do this... please stay true to you word and don't do this!
