Halle's JINX movie gets jinxed

Studio pulls the plug on spinoff

Variety reports that the planned 007 spinoff movie featuring Halle Berry's JINX character will no longer happen. Sources tell the trade that MGM has pulled the plug on the film even though a script had been written and a director (Stephen Frears) found. Instead, the studio wants EON Productions to work fully on making the new James Bond movie, the twenty-first in the franchise. Neal Purvis and Rob Wade, the screenwriters of the last two Bond films as well as the now-dead JINX film, are also developing Bond 21's storyline.
