I've always enjoyed this movie, and agree that it's good just to think of it on it's own terms instead of part of a series.  In fact, I like this movie more than a few of the other "real" Halloween films with Michael, especially parts 6 and Resurrection.   Yes, I even like the Rob Zombie efforts for what they were.

That "Silver Shamrock" song use to creep me out as a kid.  It was definitely a weird movie but I still consider it as one of my favorite horror movies growing up.

Halloween 3 was the first of the series that I actually saw at the movies.  I had to be dropped off by my parents with my date and picked up.  I remember being scared silly.  I believe the previews featured a small art house film called First Blood.

I was 10 when this came out and I never forgot the Silver Shamrock song either.  My kids have seen it and are creeped out by it as well.  I always liked part 3.  It was right there with parts 1 and 2 for me as the best in the series.  It was all downhill after that.

I remember that the black suited guys were actually were sort of supernaturally powered robots an one of them ripped a guy's head off. And while the doctor was screwing the girl at the motel, a woman in the next room was tinkering with one of the masks and it fired a laser like beam that blew a hole in her face.

yeah or the test subjects that where watching the movie and the kid falls down holding his head when the comercial comes on and all these roaches come out of his mask and kills the mother and father in the room while the execs look on happy with the results. that made me not want to wear a holloween mask for years.

What, no shout out to Dan O'Herlihy?  Part of what makes this film work is his turn as the head of Silver Shamrock.

Saw this when I was 11 in the theater, since a friend's mom was kind enough to let us in to the r-rated flick. I'm sure seeing it at that age, has something to do with the love I have for it. Scared the hell out of me then, and still gives me a creepy vibe now. Always hate to see people bashing it, mostly just because there is no Michael Myers. Get over it! It's thirty years later, enjoy it on it's own.

It has it's issues, sure (how exactly can someone just steal a huge rock from Stonehenge, let alone get it on a plane to Caifornia. I noticed the time zone thing when I was 11. There are more people staying at that tiny hotel, than work at the hospital in the beginning. Tom Atkins can call  one person from a gas station , that has the ability to  just turn programming off on all the networks, because a guy is telling him he's  gotta shut it off? And really? Kids all over the country are buying THOSE masks?) . But whatever. I can look past them. I especially like the non-traditional ending. Just ordered the dvd..and can't wait to see al the extras and new transfer!

I've always enjoyed this movie. Taken out of the Halloween series, and watched as a singular movie, it's a lot of fun. Sure, it has flaws, but most movies do. I have it on DVD and I tend to put it on the week of Halloween every year!
