Halo 3 Trailer Shown At E3

The trailer for Halo 3 was shown at the E3 convention, but had no glimpses of multiplayer action. Bungie.net has mentioned that Halo 3 would be the last installment of the Halo series.

The trailer is available for download on bungie.net and Xbox Live.

Throughout the trailer, Master Chief appears to be worn down and weary. "The Chief is shown as warrior who has seen horrific battle - and it shows. The Earth is dry, barren, ravaged by the Covenant," said art director Marcus Lehto.

"It was intended to be an understated announce of Halo 3 - the tone is that of mystery and suspense - the calm before the storm. I wanted to make sure that we re-introduced the Chief, show that Earth is thoroughly conquered, with Covenant everywhere, and that there is a glorious, ancient artifact buried under the Earth's crust which will provide H3 with the epic journey which we all want," added Lehto.

In the end, the trailer leaves us wondering, but not drooling.

It may not be the last game that takes place in the Halo universe, but it is certainly the last game in this particular Master Chief trilogy. If there are future games (which I would lay good money on there being), it would most likely star a new character and deal with a new situation. As for this trailer, it is magnificent. Not as awe-inspiring as the Halo 2 E3 trailer from a couple of years ago, but still damn fine. I can't wait.

From Bungie.net posted yesterday: Q Is this the last ever Halo game? A It is the conclusion to this story arc. No where does it day that this is the last Halo game ever, it is the conclusion to this story arc, meaning other races other things could happen with Master Chief, or Arbiter.

If they were going to give up the Halo series then they should keep making maps for Halo 2 and then Halo 3 because the updates are what keeps the game fresh in online play.
