Hama goes JOE again

Larry Hama, the writer of Marvel's G.I. JOE series in the 1980s, returns to the characters in G.I. JOE: FRONTLINE, a mini-series that starts in October from Image Comics.

G.I. JOE FRONTLINE will be penciled by Dan Jurgens and inked by Bob Layton, with Dave Dorman providing covers.

Here's how Image describes the series:

"It's the year 1994, just after the government mothballed the classic G.I. Joe organization -- or did they? Cobra is still up to its dirty tricks, and there's only one group of people qualified to stop them. You can guess who that is! This story arc fills in many of the gaps between G.I. JOE of the 1980's [and today]."
