Violator, so in your movie Luke is Jerry Sandusky?

I hear ya Jackwagon, that's basically what I was saying. I believe Luke is a must. Not necessarily as the star but more as the "and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker" draw. The Skywalker family has been GL's focus for the whole Saga (Clone Wars included) so it would be unlikely he would come up with totally new scenario that didnt include them in some capacity. Skywalker offspring in some form would make the most sense to carry the new films as it also helps bridge the trilogies. Symmetry between trilogies is very important to Lucas so count on one or both Skywalkers in some capacity.

I can only see a new trilogy having Luke in it for the first one. I think it would be great if he died in the first installment fighting the new Sith lord, and a couple of his Jedi Knights become the new stars of the story. This would parallel Obi-wan dying in front of Luke, and Qui-Gon dying in front of Obi-wan.

That and I think you need someone that is not a Jedi, because Jedi are essentially boring priests with lightsabers.

 @swisshammer - Those are some great ideas. Luke dying at the hands of the new Sith Lord would be an awesome turn of events.

But who is the new Sith Lord? Who could be the new equivalent of Darth Vader or the Emperor?

I have to add that having Leia take over as the only bad ass Jedi would be cool. She could have her twin Padawan kids, see Luke die at the hands of the new Sith Lord, where by Jedi Leia has to run like hell or die. The new Sith Lord wants at least one of the Solo twins because they make the perfect apprentices as they are still young but very powerful in the Force.

I also got an idea when I was watching the new trailer for the Clone Wars show. Luke is the Jedi Master of the New Jedi Order. But he has Yoda's and Obi Wan's holocrons for their wisdom and knowledge. That way both those characters could have short cameo's as Luke consults their holocrons for wisdom. It also adds a great plot device for the future introduction of more holocrons in future movies. None of the past movies dealt with holocrons. That is one part of the expanded universe that would be a good addition to the movies in general. They are a source of conflict because of the tremendous power they contain. Many a battle has been fought over the possession of holocrons be they for the Sith or the Jedi.

I also want the same people who made the Clone Wars show to adapt the Darth Bane trilogy to an animated mini-series. Longer than movies so they don't have to cut down on the story. That series of books was awesome. Bane is ruthless as hell. Easily among the most terrifyingly powerful Sith Lords ever. Darth Zannah is also a bad as. If anyone has not read those books I highly recommend them.

JitanPren has a point, the fact that they are calling these VII and on is indicative that they are continuing the story that exists in I-VI, but not confirmed officially yet! 

Keeping the Skywalkers in it is fine as long as the characters are age appropriate to the original actors, meaning I want to see 65yr old Luke and 59yr old Leia, not younger actors pretending to be them, I don't think anybody wants those characters recast.

Yeha Axia you could pretty much CGI up anyone from the OT who may be too old to do much and have them in holo form. For instance if they wanted Han to be dead in this series you could have leia looking at old home holo vids witha CGI han and if Ford didn't want to do it get a good voice actor. The cgi would be realistic enough especially once you consider the way people look in holo transmissions and videos.
