Hank Pym Ant-Man Costume?

or Action Figure?

By Robert T. Trate     February 01, 2014
Source: edgarwrighthere.com

We have a small tease from Edgar Wright for the weekend Maniacs. It looks as if the director, from the upcoming Ant-Man, has revealed a rough costume design of the first Ant-Man. Is this an early reveal of the Hank Pym (Michael Douglass) costume? Check out the original post here on Wright’s blog. There are not a whole lot of details there though.

Ant-Man arrives July 31, 2015.

 Horrible

What do you mean, "horrible?" It's a mock-up done on -more or less - an action figure to show the director's concept. The director - being a director and not a costume designer - will then give this to the costume department to create an actual costume from it.

Judging the costume off of this is like judging the movie off of storyboards.

I like Douglas and all but man he is really old.  What the hell is he going to be doing in the film?  Fighting evil with a walker cane?  If he was ten years older then yeah maybe I can see it...but now, not so much.

And I thought they were going to show Ant Man from when he started...and Rudd would be Lang taking over in the present.  I can only assume that there will be a younger actor to portray Douglas for the origin portion of the movie before they flash forward to the present to show how Rudd takes over as the new Ant Man.

Why are so many people commenting on his age..?

Its obvious he was at his prime in the 60s/70s just like the comic version of Hank Pym, making comments like that looks a lot like trolling...

that said... He is sooooo OLD!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I don't know why people are complaining.  That is supposed to be a costume from the 60/70's.  Hell the photo quality looks like it was from then.  The more and more I hear about this movie, the more I like it.  I wasn't sold on the Ant-man solo film, but establishing Hank Pym back in the 60/70's is a great idea, with MD is even better.  That just goes to show, Marvel is doing it right, by being able to pull in veterens such as Douglas & Redford.

the colors and patterns are great. Really has the 60s Ant Man look. Glad they are sticking to looking close to the original unlike Fox' Quicksilver.

Douglas is old because Pym is from the 60/70's.  DERP.  Also, the costume looks like Ant-Man so how can it be "horrible"?

Is there no end to Fan-Boy whining when it comes to comic book movies?
Apparently not.
I'm sure Douglas' role is akin to the one Anthony Hopkins played in The Mask of Zorro. And that worked just fine.

Get it?

Got it?

Good.
