" Upon his return to America(Gotham City), Tony(Bruce) must come to terms with his past. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications(city implications?), he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world(Gotham City) as Iron Man(Batman). I guess that sentence from the plot summary, the fact that they are both rich and if turns out that the Mandarin will be sort of a Ras Al Chul(spelling?) are the similiraties Yaomen meant by the resemblance to Batman Begins. Obviously this film won't be no Batman Begins, but I hope it turns out better than the FF films and Supes :)
Wow, can't believe people cared so much about The Green Hornet. I mean really, a 1940's hero that had a tv series in the late 1960's, can't believe you all are into him so much. I'm not 40 years old so I don't really care about this film, I've heard about Green Hornet and probably saw an episode somewhere, my last memory of this show was in the Bruce Lee biopic where they showed a glimpse of it. My point is, they can do whatever they want with this movie I doubt many people remember the show anywayz. A light comedic adventure might not be bad. Seth Rogen is cool, he might write some funny stuff for the Hornet, plus if he gets help from the Apatow productions team I have no doubt the movie will be at least entertaining. We'll see what happens, I wonder who they will cast for Kato.
I don't you can include Bale & Nolan in the Kevin Smith using the same actors discussion. Yea they've made 3 straight movies now but Batman was forced upon them u know, so that don't count. Same thing with Spacey and Singer. Supes 2 is forced cause of the contracts so yea they gotta reprise their roles. They've done 2 movies each with their respective super hero franchise directors if you think about it. Unless they've made more and I can't remember them. I guess what I mean it's like saying Raimi has a thing for Tobey cause they've done 3 Spider-Man films.
What? No love for Lost this year in the Best Drama race? They had a better season that last year's. I only watch 3 out of the 5 dramas that were nominated so I really don't know how strong Boston Legal and Grey's Anatomy are. I figured Grey would make it just cause of the many viewers it has. Anyway, not that any of it matters since Sopranos is going to sweep these Emmys. The fact that it was it's last season pretty much guarantees it. I personally hope that Michael Emerson over on Lost gets his Emmy this year, that guy deserves one for his Benjamin Linus character.
I like Kevin Smith and his movies but I don't understand why he keeps making the same films with the same people. Why is he afraid to branch out as a director and try som new things? I remember when he backed out of the Green Hornet cause he said he wasn't any good at action and only good at talky films. He may suck at action and other genres but why not try something new to see how it goes? Other tan that, can't wait for this flick, I always have a nice laugh out of his films.
I agree with you jedibanner that the Long Halloween would make an excellent Batman film. It truly would be sweet! I doubt The Dark Knight will be based on that but I do believe certain elements of the Long Halloween will show up in TDK. They even have the "I believe in Harvey Dent" line straight out of Long Halloween. Like you said I also think that " Batman is establishin his place in Gotham, how Harvey-Dent is part of the DA office and a friend to Bruce and Commissionner Gordon." I believe those things will show up in TDK and they are from Long Halloween also. They can have Falcone from jail hire some of the villains a la Long Halloween also. That explains why Scarecrow is back and even Riddler if Hall is actually playing him. If we follow the Long Halloween story arc then maybe Hall will turn out to be Holiday(Falcone's son). They also have Sam Maroni and if they have him scar Dent, then that also would be straight out of Long Halloween. To me the wild card of the movie will be The Joker. He is going to be the main villain in this film so I'm very interested in seeing how he's portrayed and how all the side stories(I assume there will be some because of the many characters being announced) will mesh with his story arc. I can't wait for this flick!
The article is not about the confirmation of Hall playing Nygma. The article starts with the fact that there are 2 major rumors. Two Face and Nygma in TDK. One of those rumors has been confirmed. TWo Face will be in the TDK. That's why you can't find anything else on Hall as the Riddler.
I'm going to assume your post daforce was aimed at me since I was the one who brough up Disturbia. Yes, I did know it was a remake of Rear Window, I didn't state it because I assumed most people here already knew it. Thanks for clearing that up for people that didn't, I shouldn't have assumed and just posted it my self:) Just in case, I wasn't comparing this movie with Disturbia only saying she is taking a leading role a la Shia. No one thought Shia could carry a movie at first, the film's success came as a surprise. Maybe Fox can do it also, who knows, it's to early to tell with this movie. Hey, at least this film sounds better than Catwoman.
I think this movie is a couple of years late.

Finally, a Guevarra film that has to kick ass, I mean Soderberg and Del Toro are both awesome. Casting Del Toro means they'll show Guevarra in his revolutionary days, well the title pretty much says so anywayz. Motorcycle Diaries showed him pre revolution so I'm glad they are taking this step. Hope the movie turns out good, can't wait for this film or the Pablo Escobar movie with Joe Carnahan and maybe Javier Bardem.
