DVD Shopping Bag: One Disc, Two Disc, Blue Disc? - Jul 08, 2008 - 06:27pm
So you owe $1200 on your car? That's about what it takes to get a blu ray player and a good 32" LCD HDTV. Payoff your car then, you are almost there.I haven't noticed a big difference on 2D animation when it's on Blu Ray or DVD, so I wouldn't go for the Blu Ray version. If it's 3d then sure.Wonder Woman does look promising, I didn't know Alfred Molina would be in that, cool. Long way till spring 2009 though.I love Batman, as you may have noticed :), but I'm not buying this. I saw it and it wasn't that great, although I'm not big on anime so I'm sure that influenced. Some of the stories were weak, I agree with redairs, the beginning was lame. I would've preferred a movie instead of a compilation of stories by different artist. The Killer Croc/Scarecrow and DeadShot ones were the coolest.I thought this movie would bridge the gap between Begins and Dark Knight but I didn't get that feeling after watching it. They touched on somethings I'm sure we'll see in the movie, like the Wayne satellite and the Major Crime Unit cops Allen & Ramirez, but that's about it.
PS. Batman The Animated Series is selling for $17 on Amazon.

This is some fucked up shit! Why, why am I on vacation? I could be in DC seeing the Batpod and Tumbler. Damn it all to hell!Velgron - u in PR? That's where I am right now, pissed off cause the film starts here on 7/24 which is weird cause they are playing Hellboy 2 a day early than in the states cause the films open on Thursday over here.
They got an article up on EW about the Bat.
Dark Knight owns son!
Something Viral Planned for DARK KNIGHT - Jul 07, 2008 - 04:53pm
You know it's going down when Wiseguy is on board and passing along Dark Knight info. Fuck me man, the new EW has the Dark Knight stuff and I ain't home!! Shit keeps getting worse and worse.I saw a bunch of links to 13 scenes from the Dark Knight over on SHH. Good stuff. Reading an issue of Long Halloween each night from here till the movie opens, get ready for The Bat.
Read that review, you are right though, the worse review is saying it's not a masterpiece but still a great film, then that shit is going to ownnnnnn!
The reviewer is obviously wrong though since it's obvious the film is a masterpiece.
Yo hanso! What up? I've been MIA adjusting to this new look. Tried posting Monday but couldn't get anything to stick. Hopefully this'll go thru.
Shit's looking better than the first day they rolled it out though.
KIMBO!!!!
hanso my brotha, my point is that there wasn't a payoff at the end of the Happening. We or at least most people knew it was the plants and that's revealed or speculated early on in the film. After that, nothing. Nothing is resolved, "the event just ends" and then starts again in another part of the world. The entire film is one big message/warning about air pollution. They treat the wind as the boogeyman ala Day After Tomorrow with the cold.
The plants , trees and shrubs release some sort toxin into the air, just to be specific. Even the way it works and progresses makes no sense. First it affects your speech, then it causes paralysis, then suicide. How the fuck do you commit suicide if you're paralysed.
That's what I mean when I say outcoached. Phil couldn't seem to get them amped up. I never saw a sense of urgency from them. Dead on about Bynum. Lakers have the youngest squad in the league. They'll be back.
