The Bandai Entertainment online store has added yet another exclusive title to its ranks, though it may not be that way for too awful long, as X is now being shown with a planned October 5th release date. The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya and Nyoron! Churuya-san has a total runtime of about 66 minutes and it's getting priced out at $24.95 on the store, with a discount for early orders. We recently saw a similar instance with the 5cm Per Second release where Bandai Entertainment is distributing the Crunchyroll release on their site but no place else. With that title, we did at least learn from a Bandai rep that it won't be exclusive, though we don't know when it will be released:
5 Centimeters Per Second is not planned for our store exclusive. This title will be distributed normally.
The Haruhi release is being done in bilingual format with a confirmed English dub to go with the Japanese dub alongside subtitles for the anamorphic widescreen release. Extras slated for the show include a clean opening, promo videos, commercials and more ASOS Brigade material.
Details:
The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya
In these animated short episodes, based on the comical spin-off manga, the characters are presented in cute little versions of themselves and focus each of their unique quirks. Haruhi is even more outrageous with her twisted understanding of Valentine’s Day and Halloween, Mikuru is just as clueless as ever and Yuki is an ero-game addict.
Nyoron! Churuya-san
There comical shorts were originally a fan drawn 4-panel parody manga and due to its underground success, chosen to be animated. Follow the whimsical adventures of Churuya-san (based on the character, Tsuruya-san) on her quest for her favorite food, smoked cheese.
and of course each title will get a single dvd release at about 30 a disc. No thanks
