Deadline is reporting that Quentin Tarantino’s next film will be titled The Hateful Eight. The film, which is still in early stages of development, will be yet another western. Deadline’s Mike Flemming is also reporting that there are two actors that Tarantino has in mind for his picture. The first is Bruce Dern (Nebraska and The Cowboys) and the other is Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained). At this point Deadline reiterates that they are just piecing rumors and hearsay together. Though another Tarantino western, with Waltz back in the saddle, is something we could all get onboard for.

We’ll keep are eyes open for more news on The Hateful Eight.

I could have sworn I read something that said Tarantino was retiring from directing.  I guess not?

Enough with lame-ass nazis and cowboys. Bring on Kill Bill 3!

Wiseguy 1/12/2014 12:10:18 PM

Lame ass cowboys? we don't get nearly enough cowboys on the big screen so this is great news. I can wait a little longer for KB3 to let them kids seem aged appropriately

I can't wait to hear more about this, some solid info hopefully

Sanity I recall reading a similar thing but it was more like Tarantino saying he didn't want to be an old film maker so he may retire after something like 10 films. I think he's up to 8 right now

This will flop like Jonah Hex.

VTGamehendge 1/12/2014 5:20:39 PM

I like it.  And I think we should keep "our" eyes open for more news.  :)

Sanity 1/12/2014 5:54:11 PM

Ah...I remember the film count thing now.  I love his work so I hope he just keeps going.

Yeah he talked about the retiring thing alot promoting Django and basically he said he's on the good side of retiring age but not there yet.

Also, lame ass westerns? I totally agree with Wise, they are so few and far between I thought this was the best news I heard last week. Can't wait.

CalamityJohnson 1/13/2014 8:55:30 AM

Seems like westerns are just getting better and better. Aside from Disney's Lone Ranger and the dreadful Jonah Hex, (more comic book stuff anyway), we've had some doozies (3:10 to Yuma, Open Range, Unforgiven, Django, True Grit).

CalamityJohnson 1/13/2014 11:06:51 AM

...and yes, we need another return to the Kill Bill franchise, or at the very least, another Kung Fu-esque yarn. He does gangster so well too. I'd love another Pulpy/Reservoir Dogsy film from him. I also think he'd do an EXCELLENT horror film. Could he pull a sci fi?

aegrant 1/14/2014 10:11:58 AM

@wormlander didn't Bill die in Kill Bill 2?
