HAYATE THE COMBAT BUTLER 2ND SEASON
© Crunchyroll

A second season of frivolity and otaku-centered humor with our favorite indebted combat butler and his hikikomori multibillionaire employer.

What They Say
Episode 6: Your Place
Nagi is extremely embarrassed about what happened with Hayate that she can no longer look him in the eye. Maria gave him one million yen for three days worth of living expenses since he was asked to leave the residence. Yukiji, Himuro, and the Sister sniffed out the cash and Hayate got involved with them, paid for someone's daughter's medical bill, and so forth. All the money was gone! He was not only without money but also without a place to go.

The Review!
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)

Apparently, Nagi is extremely flustered because of the events of the last episode (what with the nakedness and the kissing). So, Hayate is told to lay low by Maria. And given a million yen to hold him over for three days. A king's ransom for many people, a sultan's fortune for Hayate who could live comfortably for three years with that amount. If it wasn't for his luck.

So, of course, the money all disappears within the first day. Alone, freezing on the last snowy day of winter in the park, Hayate recalls the past, and notes that there is no Nagi to save him this time…

When salvation comes in the form of Hinagiku. So, Hinagiku, and her slightly strange mother (strange in that she seems to share Maria and Nagi's compulsion to force Hayate to wear women's clothing), take Hayate in.

Maria, however, begins to fret when the one million yen she gave to Hayate comes back to the house (everyone who got money from him returned it). So, she decides to try to ferret out what has happened, by dressing up in her old school uniform and sneaking into Hakuou Academy to spy on him. So, it's Maria's Cosplay Moment. But she attracts too much attention. And the eyeglasses just make it worse. But then she bumps into Hayate, who does not recognize her (since he doubts that Maria would ever wear such a get up). The story will continue…

In Summary:
The series seems to be moving heavily into the relationship confusion that surrounds Hayate. Nagi loves him but is embarrassed to admit her feelings, especially now that she has literally exposed herself to him. Hayate then comes to be involved with Hinagiku more, who herself has a strong internal dilemma: she wants to help Nishizawa in her pursuit of Hayate, but at the same time has unresolved feelings herself. If you like the manga a lot, you will be very happy with where the anime has been going this season. Even for those without experience of the manga, if you like light romantic comedy, this series should continue to appeal.
