After months of growing criticism aimed at Sony executives for the lack of title exclusives, it looks as if one has finally come along for the console provider. An insider over at Ubisoft has informed Gamespot that the upcoming game, HAZE, will in fact be an exclusive for the next generation Sony product. This goes against previous reports of the Free Radical game being planned as a "timed" exclusive for the PS3 with a port to the Xbox360/PC sometime in 2008.

Not anymore, says Gamespot.

Plot Summary: In the year 2048, no UN or NATO forces exist as they were superseded by a private military company named Mantel Global Industries. The player (first-person shooter) will assume the mantle of Sergeant Shane Carpenter; a new recruit in the Mantel Global Industries army. Carpenter fights rebels in South America in the war between the rebels and the Mantel Global Industries army, which began in the year 2032. In the midst of these three days, Shane finds out of horrible experiments between his company and civilians involving a bio-medical compound called NECTAR that Mantel Co. have been creating.

HAZE hits stores everywhere on November 19, 2007.

And it will not be an excluive in another 6 months. Exclusive emans nothing unless Sony, MS, or Nitnendo makes the games themselves.

lol Are you being cynical there, Bdd?

I sorta understand with the way 3rd party developers move a title around after saying one thing a year earlier..

For now though, that's the report. Haze will not be ported to anything else.

We shall see what happens next year. Perhaps, they'll go with the temporary amnesia or deny they ever said this..

It's possible this game could be ported to the 360 sometime in the future... but the fact that it's designed for the PS3 for the ground up, utilizing the Cell chip and the extra storage capacity of a bluray disc probably means it won't...

I don't expect Ubisoft to port it to the 360 at all, though. The PS3 is starting the gain a lot of ground, and with the release of Warhawk last week it might finally have the system selling exclusive they've been waiting for. The game is amazingly fun.

Once the Holiday season picks up steam and Haze is released we could see the PS3 with an extremely strong foothold in the next gen market.

It will be on 360, the fact it's on a Blu-Ray disc means nothing. It's like RE4 for the GameCube, it will be ported over the guys dead body and the PS2 couldn't handle it. They pushed the creator aside and ported a watered down version to the PS2.

No it wont bdd, what part of "no plans to release the game on any other system" dont you understand?

lol the fact that it's on a BluRay means nothing? Are you serious. If you can figure out how to fit 20+ gigs of info from a BluRay onto a 9 GB you should be working for these companies, not criticizing them. And that's just assuming it's 20 gigs... maybe it's 30, or 40... It's a simple matter of not having enough space... If Ubisoft designs this game for the PS3 and takes advantage of the BluRay format by including high res textures and a large game world, then it's virtually impossible to port the game to the 360.

Yes it means nothing. There are Blu-Ray games that take up 25GBs of memory on sounds, they are wasting space on Blu-Ray because they don't really know what the hell to do with the space.

And all you said was "I'm a Sony fanboy, blah blah blah....".

LOL he's a Sony fanboy cause he's got common sense? Wow your dumber that you sound
