Helen Slater Confirmed For SMALLVILLE

After two weeks of "rumors", its been confirmed that the original Supergirl, Helen Slater, will be appearing in the next season of SMALLVILLE. This comes a month after actress Laura Vandervoort has been cast as the new Supergirl in the show. Word is that Helen Slater will be playing Supergirl's aunt in the show so that could mean something even more surprising. That could point to Clark Kent's Krypton mother appearing as Helen Slater which would change the mythology a little more.

Thanks to scooper "Daforce" for first passing the rumors to me last week and then the confirmation.

3 questions, why don't they just say she plays Clarks real mom unless it's supposed to be some surprise, is Slater still hot (i bet she is) and how do I get my girlfriend to wear that costume?

It doesn`t necessarily mean that the aunt she is playing is Kryptonian and even if she is maybe Jor El had more than one sibling. It would be wild if she ends up being Clarks mom. If you think about it, they have never really addressed her. It has always been about Jor-El and Clarks destiny. Its about time they talk about the mother a little. Either way, I hope that she is still hot.

Oh yeah, she's still hot! Can't wait for the new season of Smallville to start. I read an article about this somewhere last week and i'm glad that the news has been confirmed. And I agree with ponyboy76. Hopefully she does ends up being Clarks Kryptonian mom so that they can address her instead of flashing her hand over his spaceship with a voiceover. I will not accept any episodes this season like Subterranean last season. With the characters they have now there's no reason why every episode should be a great one.

says she's playing Lara-El. I'd assume she appears as some sort of hologram or dream/flashback. I can't imagine they'd have Clark be able to interact with his living, breathing birth mother. That'd totally change the character.

I agree with that if it is his mom she should be dead and come to her as a hologram coming from her ship or the fortress of solitude. As long as they dont have a bunch of stupid Clark Lana Lex romance crap I will be cool. Every time they make Clark wine about her it makes me want to turn the channel
