By the Power of Grayskull and a really incredible toy line... He-Man is back.

He-Man fans rejoice An all-new comic book series chronicling HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE will be released starting in July, and offer an entirely new take on the storied warrior who celebrates his 30th anniversary this year.  The six issue, limited series is written by James Robinson (Earth 2), with pencils by Phillip Tan and inks from Ruy Jose.

In the new series, Robinson reintroduces the Masters of the Universe to comic readers with Skeletor having won a major victory and rewriting the world of Eternia where he now rules from Castle Grayskull and the Masters have no memory of their former glory. Adam is a simple woodsman haunted by dreams of a heroic warrior, wielding a powerful sword in battle. He is found by a mysterious sorceress who tells him his dreams are of the way the world should be, that he is Eternia's champion He-Man. Adam sets off on a quest to regain his power and reawaken the Masters of the Universe.

If they're not going to use the full King Grayskull/Keldor history, then I think that this is the storyline on which they should base a new film.

Damn, when I saw the article link I was hoping it was about a new He-Man live action movie.

I like the sound of this...

Sound a little like a cross between Flash Gordon and the basic premise of the 1987 MOTU movie, with Skeletor firmly in control of Eternia... I wonder if they will use this as a way to tie the old 'mini comic' continuity in with the more established one created by the cartoon and later comics...

Talking of Flash Gordon, when I think of Ming The Merciless I still think of Alan Oppenheimer's distinctive naselly voice for the character, which a few years later was the same one he used for Skeletor...

Hmmm. could be interesting. I'll give issue #1 a chance at least.

You know they should have made a HE-MAN movie instead of a John Carter movie.

It sounds like the idea that they are using on "Once upon a time." I like how that plot continues to develop, I could see this storyline working really well.

 Sounds like a good idea.

Did anyone else read "an entirely new take on the storied warrior" as "an entirely new take on the steroid warrior" like I did?

As excited as I am about another He-Man project, I may be the only one that does not like the sound of it.  Only because it feels like a story over used time and time again.

I did lusiphur!   lol.

People in movies always get amnesia or something and the hero always win but it's the journey that's interesting.
