Writer Jonathan Hensleigh and producer Jerry Bruckheimer are joining together again for a new action pitch called NINE LIVES, a pitch bought by Disney. Variety is reporting the duo behind The Rock, Armageddon, Con Air, Gone in 60 Seconds feel its time to bring back straight summer action fare after taking some years off. As you know Bruckheimer split to oversee the Pirates trilogy and various other properties like CSI while Hensleigh went on to direct The Punisher and Welcome to the Jungle.

So what's this fifth film between the pair going to center on?

Plot Concept:  The story centers around a Manhattan detective called Nine Lives because of the number of shootings he has survived while on duty.

I personally like The Rock. All the films mentioned by both them at least were somewhat entertaining so this isn't terrible news so I guess we'll get some mindles action in summer.
I hope Hensleigh doesn't direct though, The PUnisher?, come on!

Jerry Bruckheimer! How he is not one of the richest men in America I'll never know. This guy has his hands in everything it seems.
I too freakin' loved The Rock, Armageddon, and Con Air. I'm always up for some 'mindless' summer action. We don't get enough of that anymore, if you ask me...

Is this going to be the next generation's "Action Jackson?" I like the films they've worked on together, so I;m sure this will be a fun summer popcorn romp that I'll forget 30 minutes after I've seen it.
