WTF? Never even heard of this film before. When I saw the article title I thought this was for a new Blu-ray edition of the old Kevin Sorbo show. The only other Herc flick I knew existed was the upcoming Dwayne Johnson one.

The clip looks more like something from the Spartacus TV series. The gladiator fighting and costume and set design is more Roman than ancient Greek but whaddahell. This tease does not make me want to see it.

What? When I saw the artible title, I was thinking of The Rock's Hercules.

damn, almost had me but no cigar. didn't bother to watch this trailer I take your guys word for it...

Well you guys obviously don't keep up with the news, guess you guys only visit mania.... zing! :)

Wouldn't be surprised if this is the better Hercules film but wouldn't be surprised the other way either. I like The Rock but still having a hard time seeing him as Hercules not to mention that most of HIS films haven't been that good

Where's the Rock? Ok. Worst teaser ever. STDVD.

Are you guys tools ? If this is anything close to being like Spartacus as you say "the tv series" this Hercules is going to rock ! Sparatcus was everything but a TV series !

monkeyfoot 10/11/2013 12:02:07 PM

Well this teaser does look like Spartacus. Despite that being a good series I would think they could come up with their own look. 300 looks different than Clash Of The Titans.

You can do what you want with the character but to my knowledge Hercules was never involved with gladiatorial fighting but lots of epic batrtles, wars and mythic monsters. And as I said the costuming, helmets, and what I can see of the buildings looks like Rome which would be like a thousand years after Hercules Greece.

Maybe it will look better to me after I see a longer trailer.

Speaking of Spartacus, did anyone else notice Liam McIntyre's name in the credits?

This looks OK, but that's about it. The strange thing is that, especially with all the Hercules talk around the version with The Rock, no one has even heard of this movie being made. It's not even like Renny Harlin is a no-name director. Not a good sign.

BunyonSnipe 10/11/2013 3:37:25 PM

Well it's weird, yes it's obviously Rome not Greece, but Hercules IS his ROMAN name, his Greek name was Herakles!
