I agree with Wise 100%, i saw the trailer for this on the Friday that the "Dark Knight Rises" was released and remember saying to myself when that scene appeared "oh boy", and no one saw that trailer again.

Warner Brothers has posted the third TV spot for Gangster Squad. Though the film looks retro cool, it is tough to get over the Dick Tracy like villain Penn is playing.
The Plot: Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and—if he has his way—every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It's enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop...except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O'Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen's world apart.
Gangster Squad arrives January 11th, 2013.

Yeah looking forward to this. I had no idea it was based on a true story.
Still disappointed they changed the theater shootout scene. I thought the 4/5 month delay was enough
