Here's Green Lantern: The long-awaited trailer in HD! Plus: Ruffalo psychs up for Hulk. Morrison talks We3 and more! It's your Comics2Film 10.11.17!

Morrison on WE3 and JOE THE BARBARIAN

MTV Splash Page chats up Grant Morrison who gave them an update of sorts on various movie projects he's involved with.

Of primary interest to C2F is the development of his awesome cyborg pet comic We3. Sadly, Morrison could only hint as something positive for that project.

"Relativity Pictures keeps saying they're doing it, and they still haven't done it," he said. "That's where we stand right now. There's some news coming that I can't say anything about that might be good for We3, but so far that's where we stand."

He had more to say about the filmed adaptation of his more recent creator-owned comic Joe The Barbarian. Morrison has a high degree of involvement with the project. The project apparently has a director attachment and they're working to close a deal with that unnamed person. There are also writers working up their take on the material.

"I've been writing my own stuff and I've sold a few scripts, but nothing's actually been made yet, so it's getting a bit boring," he laughed. "I thought on this one, if we get a couple of writers who have done the job and are friendly with Warner Bros, we'll be able to get something they can sell much more quickly than if it was me up there jumping about."

Ruffalo Rages about AVENGERS' Hulk

IGN caught up with actor Mark Ruffalo, who is set to take on the role of Bruce Banner and the Incredible Hulk in Marvel's upcoming Avengers movie.

Ruffalo talked about preparing for the role saying that he's been looking at the first issue of the Avengers comic and watching 100 hours of Bill Bixby's take on the character. But he's also trying to get down to the original roots of the Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's creation.

"I've been really thinking about the inception, the original motivation of that character and why they came up with that character. He's a cross between Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Frankenstein. I'm finding a lot of stuff there," Ruffalo said. "And I'm actually going to be physically playing the Hulk. No other actor's ever done that. So I've been getting into Tai Chi and Pilates and doing a lot of movement stuff. I don't know what I want to do with it exactly, but I've been working physically to bring the leviathan alive."

The actor also said he's finding the challenge in dually expressing the overt rage that the monster feels, and the repressed anger of Banner.

"Rage is an intense thing. It's big, it's huge. It's your whole body, and so I'm not going to compare myself to any other Hulks. I just know that I want that rage to be as real as possible. I want that when he goes off that you feel it in me. That it happens to me first and then it becomes Hulk. I don't think it's simultaneous. It's interesting. It takes some people quite a bit to get to rage," Ruffalo said.

AVENGERS Relocated to West Coast?

Speaking of The Avengers, Bleeding Cool continues to report on the alleged cost-cutting on the movie. Their latest report, vague on details though it may be, claims that Marvel has scaled back the New York City leg of the production, and now plans to shoot more of the movie in Los Angeles. The source of the info is not made clear.

Here's a clip that needs no introduction, ya Poozers. It's the long-awaited Green Lantern trailer, available in various HD formats on and YouTube.

Thanks to gauleyboy420 and saiyiansreign823, Super-Papa for the submission.

Green Lantern- Its not at the top of my list but I may check it out that corny pick up line at the begining just doesn't work for me. Like the BLackest night line.

Super Psyched for the Avengers movie.

Visually it looks great........too much of Reynolds typical shtick in the trailer........will be there opening day.

GL: Looks cool. This teaser is made to appeal to the general movie audience who probably have a very superfiicial notion of the character and gives a good set up. Maniacs were already brutal a couple of days ago but whether you think the trailer is good or bad I'm pretty sure most of you will be seeing this in the theater.

jfdavis 11/17/2010 7:46:33 AM

GL- Parts of the trailer blew me away while others were pointless comedy.  Hal Jordan should be the stick in the mud as he was portayed on Superfriends but, if the trailer is any indication and it may just be trying for a wider audience, they played up the "cocky everyman" angle a bit too much. It won't stop me from enjoying it but it may prevent me from buying the DVD...

As long as the Avengers are homebased in NYC, I don't care where it's filmed...Many NYC shows are actaully filmed in LA...

I'm feeling the same way about the Green Lantern. I thought it would be darker, but this is just a trailer.

Not sure what Ruffalo is talking about when he says he's playing the Hulk too... Are they going to suit him up in dots and scan him in or is he going to wear a Hulk suit and look as dumb as the Thing?

horcruxx 11/17/2010 8:07:48 AM

Green looks awsome definetly this summer will be hero packed and i will enjoy it a LOT.

kwsupes 11/17/2010 8:11:44 AM

I am down with GL. The trailer is not all that I wanted, but I think it has promise and there is a pretty good chance that the effects are not finished yet.

Bryzarro 11/17/2010 8:13:41 AM

Now seeing the full trailer I've removed alot of my fears.  I'm still not big on how green the suit is but I'm thinking i'll be very happy with the film.  All the supporting lanterns look great.

joeybaloney 11/17/2010 8:23:14 AM

GL trailer looks pretty cool but I gotta agree with everyone that it seems a bit too much like the ring picked Ryan Reynolds and not Hal Jordan.

captm0rgan - I believe they are doing the mo-capture thing with Ruffalo.

Joe the Barbarian is a pretty good fantasy book. Hope that works out.

Im not sure how I feel about Green Lantern. It looks decent, but not the Green Lantern movie I wanted to see for the last 20 years. My anticipation for this may be too high.

Im hoping the comedy is to a minimum and they are just showing these parts because the rest with the  real story and drama is so special effects driven they dont have more to show.

But I hope it is amazing, so we can get to the second one and see Sinestro and Hal fight it out on the big screen.
