Series 1 of NBC’s “Heroes” 7 inch action figures are expected to be in specialty retail stores in June of this year. Having seen what I believe are the final versions of the figures, I have to say that I am more than impressed with their detail and authenticity. Series 1 will include Peter, Mohinder, Hiro, Claire and Sylar (last two not pictured). Articulation in this series will vary based on the particular figure.

Editor's Note: Some of the pics got cropped but if you click on the links, you'll get the full size snapshots (with heads).

What were not present were the variants or “chase figures”, a phrase used by industry professionals for the variant figures that might have only one in a case. There is a burned Claire chase figure to look for in series 1 with the possibility of others.

Series 2 is slated for September of 2008. The series will include Niki/ Jessica, Future Peter, Mr. Linderman, Matt Parkman with Molly and Noah Bennet.

The best of this set are Future Peter and Mr. Linderman. While Parkman and Molly make a great two pack I didn’t feel that the face of Parkman looked enough like Greg Grunberg.

Series 3 will give us another villain with Adam Monore joining the line. Series 3 is slated for November 2008. Note that the Hiro figure in Kensei Armor is not the final product. This series is by far the best of the entire line in terms of resemblance to the actors. Besides Adam and the Kensei Hiro, series 3 will include Elle Bishop, Nathan Petrelli and the Haitian.

When I asked the Mezco representative what character, if any, would be a San Diego Comic Con exclusive he smiled and said he didn’t know. With some further prying there exists the possibility, “only a possibility”, that it may be the Future Hiro.

A nine inch figure line is also expected in November featuring forty points of articulation. Figures will include Niki/ Jessica, Peter, Claire and Sylar. The following picture was taken at the Diamond Select booth. It may be the nine inch Peter figure or perhaps a chase 7 inch figure of Peter flying. It was very cool nonetheless. It was still made by Mezco so the possibility that this is the nine inch figure is good.

How did they do the face scans for these figures? They don't look very good.

I have never been a big fan of Mezco's products as a whole and this line does nothing to change my opinion. It seems like they don't even try to get the likeness correct half the time. Their figures always looked rushed and thrown together (The Miami Vice line being the worst offender). That Nikki / Jessica sculpt looks horrible and Parkman is not much better. This license should have gone to McFarlane or Neca.

These looks like anus. Where's Hayden Pantyairy at? They should do a line of figures called "Hollywood Whores": Paris (with kung fu grip lips and glory hole playset) Britney (bald, whitetrash version & young schoolgirl version) Rehab Lindsay (comes with booze bottle and longing desire to f*&k anything that moves) Amy Crackhouse (coke sold seperately) Tara Reid (Now with Botched Surgery Boobs! So life-like!) Sharon Stone Vintage Edition (The OOOOOriginal Hollywood Whore!!)

You guys are nuts. These figures (outside of Parkman) look great.

Actualy, I'm pretty impressed. I saw images on a UK site awhile ago and they didn't look as good, but these look much better. I actually like the Parkman likeness, but his and Molly's heads seem a little large. Actually, I have Mezco's Goonies figures, and their heads are a bit large too. Works for Sloth though!

These figures are absolute garbage. Put some effort in people. Disgusting. Mezco needs to stop making figures based on actual peoples liknesses; or hire some talented sculptors.
