From tropical islands to a Christmas segment, Hetalia certainly does travel the world.
What They Say:
The Allies are still stranded, but they soon discover that their deserted island isn't so deserted. Later, a holiday leads to wartime ceasefire between England and Germany - and the ceasefire leads to a soccer game in the snow.

The tales of the Allies continue to be the most charming for me, and seeing France wandering around a deserted island with a pretty bird flapping around him is entirely appropriate. It's the kind of life that France leads even in the most dangerous of times where he's beautiful and appealing. There's something charming about him being cool about everything as he's stranded on the island, only to discover that he's not really alone because Italy is there as well. Italy continues to look up to everyone in an adoring way, even in the midst of a war between all of them.
The two have a pretty lengthy history so having them spend time together makes a certain sense even when taken into the larger context. What makes things even more amusing though is when they finally come across Germany who is being incessentally poked by America and England while various other characters look on from the bushes. Italy's panic over everyone poking him is pretty darn amusing though, especially as Germany just stands there and stoically takes it. America and England are very cute as they go at it though, poke poke poke away.
Hetalia does offer up some quiet time in this episode as there's another segment that focuses on a winter period meeting between some of them in the middle of fighting. Germany is heartened by England making an approach to take a time out in the middle of everything since it's Christmas and even during this time they can get along a little bit. Of course, England tries to get things rolling with a little game of soccer between the two, but Germany is just too much of a powerhouse for him. The best part though is seeing how Germany looks wistfully at the falling snow and all he can think about is the cuteness that is Italy.
Hetalia has a pretty good time here in this episode as it doles out the World War II era fun with the principal characters while letting the Seychelles sneak in an appearance that will make fans very happy. The use of Italy in both an active form with France and as the object of Germany's strange affection sis pretty spot on and it works well. Germany gets some good times here in both segments, but I keep going back to the whole poking thing and just laughing over the panic that Italy goes through with it. Good, simple, clean fun with my favorite characters.
