film ick reports that the BBC are set to make a TV series called 'Phoo Action' based on a comic strip by Jamie Hewlett ('Gorillaz'), originally titled 'Get the Freebies'.

The show would star Eddie Shin and Jaime Winstone as the title characters Terry Phoo and Whitey Action respectively. Carl Weathers, of 'Predator' and 'Rocky' fame is also slated to appear as Police Chief Benjamin Benson.

Writing staff includes Jessica Hynes, Peter Martin and Matthew Enriquez Wakeham. Euros Lyn is directing the initial episode.

The strip originally ran in Face Magazine. Film ick provides this description:

In case you don't know the strip, this is going to be the kind of show in which zombies get dusted by some impossible kung fu moves while old school hip hop and dub reggae play and the online editor starts pressing as many buttons at once as they can.
