Davis-Panzer Productions and Imagi International are developing an animated feature length
HIGHLANDER project reports today's
Variety. The new
HIGHLANDER will be written by TV series head writer David Abramowitz. No details about the film's storyline or whether series star Adrian Paul would play the lead role (make that voice) were revealed but it may be ready for release by the spring of 2006.
This isn't the first time the immortals of the
HIGHLANDER universe have entered the world of animation. Gaumont Animation produced an animated series that hit syndication during the 1990s and which featured a younger Immortal named Quentin MacCloud battling against evil foes in a futuristic apocalyptic wasteland. It didn't last long on the air.
Variety also confirms the rumors that a fifth live-action film, currently titled
HIGHLANDER: THE SOURCE, is also in development.
