Ugh....this has been languishing in the wings for a couple of years. I think we all know it's going to suck...but we all know we're going to watch it too haha!

This played on the Sci-Fi channel a few weeks ago. It was perhaps the single worst movie I’ve seen in the last 5 years (and yes that includes Uwe Boll’s movies).

The ‘plot’ was utterly incomprehensible. It actually borrows one of the worst plot points of Highlander two by moving into a dysutopian future.

There are no ‘big reveals’ about immortals. The ‘source’ when it is finally shows up made no sense at all. As they get closer they get weaker and lose their immortality (which is strange since they are supposedly approaching the ‘source’ of said immortality), except when they’re REALLY close then they become super-charged, except for the ‘guardian’ dude whose always strong, I think. They actually tried to use flashbacks at the end to ‘explain’ the plot/point of the movie (hint, Duncan’s noble, who knew).

None of the new red-shirt immortals are given any kind of character development so when they die nobody cares.

And the final action battle looked like is lifted, I kid you not, from a Bugs Bunny cartoon (twirling the guy around so he drills himself into the ground? Ugh doesn’t begin to cover it).

Save your money.

And quit printing press releases as if they are news articles or at least state that your printing a press release verbatim. Nobody did any writing on this article beyond a cut and paste from the production company’s e-mail.

"thrilling new chapter." Yeah, right! I saw it on SciFi too, and it was absolutely awful. Between SciFi's "original" movies and Uwe Boll's (cough, cough) films it's a shame Mystery Science Theater 3000 isn't on anymore because they'd have fun with some of these terrible films.

It was horrid. The few curse words they used were poorly dubbed out which sounded rediculous. The TV show had better acting, better swordplay. You could tell the actors just didnt care. And dont even get me started on the 2 random music video sequences

Adrian Paul is the only one that wanted to continue the Highlander franchise...at all costs...apparantly that means "the Source"
Sean Connery isnt coming back ever, Christopher Lambert was wise to avoid this, after the last one... which SUCKED.
again... I re-state Adrian Paul is a POSER to the throne that is Christopher Lambert, the one TRUE Highlander..CONNOR MacLoud.

the worst news is that The Source wasnt (isnt?) going to be the final nail in the Highlander coffin as Adrian Paul STILL insists that the Highlander films continue on... AT ALL COST.
its bullshit....Actually believe what is written about the Source... it REALLY BLOWS (of course any "original" Sci/fi movie does) but this one blows ABYSMALLY....believe it.
hopefully, they've hired some crack editors to recut this awful flick since it debuted in September but I really doubt it.

I think I half watched this once not even knowing what it was. It was a cartoon right?
They never should have made anything past the first movie. It was not only a classic story, but it was amazingly edited and filmed. Loved that movie and I will refuse to watch another live action version after I sat through the second one and it ruined everything for me. I just pretend like it never happened.

I saw this back in September when it aired on Sci-Fi. I had to turn it off 30 minutes into it because it was sooooo BAD! I've sat through a lot of really bad films in their entirety, but I just could make it through this terrible film.

wessmith, MST3K may no longer be on tv, but it does live on with Rifftrax.com. I've purchased quite a few of the podcast commentaries off the site. All commentaries are done with Mike Nelson and several others also have Kevin Murphy aka Tom Servo, and still others have Bill Corbett aka Crow (at least the sci-fi version) joining Mike and Kevin.

Casino Royale (the new one) and 300 are two of the best podcasts. I haven't heard the one for Transformers yet, but I'm sure it more classic MST3K fun!

I'd like to point out that Christopher Lambert starred in more bad Highlander movies than good ones.

As for Adrian Paul wanting more, well, it's not like he has any control over the franchise. Or had any, at all, ever. He got a paycheque out of it, and it's Panzer/Davis that's decided to continue the franchise.

This the first time ever that I didn't put "Press release" under source at the top of the article and yet you say "quit doing that" in your comment, Thorin??

Sheesh..

This was the best Highlander film ever! you all didn't get the plot, that's the problem. Adrian Paul should be nominated for an Oscar!!!!!!!!!

but seriously, this was the worst film hands down i saw in 07. i was dissapointed cause End Game was better than Final Demension. Looks like they will never be able to make back to back decent Highlander films. With the Source being so bad, the next one can only be better right? right?....................
