EW.com is reporting that talks between actor Jonah Hill and DreamWorks have broken down in regards to Hill starring in TRANSFORMERS 2.

DreamWorks was looking to have the SUPERBAD actor play a sidekick to Shia LaBeouf in the upcoming sequel from director Michael Bay.

As previously reported, TRANSFORMERS 2 is being written by Ehren Kruger based on a story by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Lorenzo di Bonaventura will once again produce.  Steven Spielberg will executive produce.

TRANSFOMERS made over $700 million worldwide at the box office.

Talk is that Hill appear in a cameo role in director Shawn Levy's Night at the Museum 2, which stars Ben Stiller.

All I can say is aside from how huge the first one was all around, if talks have broken down between him and a movie that Steven Spielberg has anything to do with, he and/or his agent may want to set their standards a little lower. Being in anything Spielberg has his hands in, to me, could make an acting career the equivalent to solid gold. He seems to be a decent actor so far, but damn.

The dude is part of the Apatow clan, he'll be alright not being in Transformers.

Well that's good news for me, because I absolutely hate that fat little SOB. He's not funny and pretty much ruined "Superbad" as a movie. And he was awful in "Knocked Up" as well. I don't know what Judd Apatow sees in this no-talent ass hat.

"Transformers 2" will be a better movie without him.

masterjedidude,
When you're done filming your next blockbuster comedy why don't you give Apatow a call (I'm sure you have his # ) and ask him. Sorry, it's just a pet peeve of mine when armchair directors, call a successful obviously talented person "a hack", or no talent "ass-hat". BTW do you listen to Don and Mike? Thats one of the very few places I've ever heard the phrase ass-hat?

He is an immensely talented, ultra funny comedic actor.
AND in my opinion, he was th funniest part of Superbad.

It's ok by me. Don't care much for the dude. Don't hate him, just don't care.

Can't say I'm upset he won't be in it. I'm probably in the minority but I did not like Superbad. I like all of Apatow's other films, but Hill ruined this film for me. I stopped watching half way through.
But since I haven't written a blockbuster comedy, I guess my opinion isn't valid.
Is this a requirment now to post on this site? Prove you've written a blockbuster movie if you want to voice a negative opinion otherwise you have to love everything?

I think Jonah was funny as hell in SB. It was his movie for sure. However I did not want him in Transformers 2. I think you can have enough of a comedy element without going the route of getting a straight up comedian. I thought the first had its comic moments without going overboard with gags and I'd hate for the second to go there.
