HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE III release scheduled

Cartoonist-historian Larry Gonick's latest massive volume hits shelves in October

W. W. Norton has scheduled Larry Gonick's latest weighty tome, THE CARTOON HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE III for bookstore delivery in October, 2002. Gonick's website, larrygonick.com, provides a partial table of contents, which proffers coverage of events ranging from the time of Rome's expansion and shift to the east up through everyone's favorite history topic, the Black Plague.

Gonick has also created a series of science comics including THE CARTOON GUIDE TO SEX and THE CARTOON GUIDE TO PHYSICS. In both his science comics and the HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE SERIES, he has a track record of crafting genuinely hilarious yet meticulously accurate comics, generously footnoted.
