Hobbit 2 Trailer with Man of Steel

Warner Brothers is going all out!

By Robert T. Trate     June 07, 2013
Source: emileeid.com

As if seeing Man of Steel wasn’t enough next week, Warner Brothers just added some more incentive. The trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey sequel, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will now premiere with the Man of Steel. A natural pairing as Warner Brothers has a stake in both franchises.

This news broke exclusively on emileeid.com, a Lebanese movie news site. “The first trailer from The Desolation Of Smaug, will be be attached to all of Man Of Steel prints. And it’s not a teaser trailer, but it’s a full 2 min 30 sec theatrical trailer”.

I was pretty much expecting this.  They are both from Warner Brothers so it makes sense.

Well good... NOW I have a good reason to go see MOS!

Despite this news, it will not distract me from seeing Man of Steel.  You may throw trailers for greedy vultures movies who suck the life out of classic stories about dwarves, hobos and dragons by inflating and destroying them  but I will watch Man of Steel.  I will enjoy it.  You will not win Warner Brothers!

I'm kinda with DarkXid, I passed on the hobbit because of their cynical, greedy attempt to milk three movies out of what should be a single, three hour film, but I'll still check out Man of Steel, even though I'm not as optomistic about it as many other posters.

Good or not, if MOS doesnt turn out to be the first part of a larger DC movie universe, then Warner Brothers can bite me. Dont let your ego keep you from following Marvels successful formula. They made a box office hit out of a movie featuring the Mandarin, for god's sake.

C'mon @samuraii1138 if (when) Warner Bros. screws up the creation of a DC film universe it won't be ego that prevents them from following Marvel's formula, it will be incompetence.  All signs seem to point to WB in way too big a hurry to have their own Avengers.  Althought it's still a lot of speculation, it looks like they are really trying to rush to Justice League rather than lay the groundwork with less successful origin movies for other staple characters like the films running up to the Avengers.  WB is in a tough spot; they could theoretically try to do Justice League with Cavill, Bale and Reynolds, but their are countless reasons why that ain't gonna happen.  So that means what?  Reboot Batman and introduce all the other principals around Cavill in a single movie?  Do World's Finest first as a half measure and then introduce three or four new heroes in the next movie?  See how many ways there are for WB to screw this up?  They need to think a longer game if they want to do this right.  Oh, and even though the fanboy in me curses me for saying it, the reason Marvel managed to make a movie featuring the Mandarin a hit is because it didn't really feature the Mandarin at all.  If they had made that movie faithful to the source material, I think the average movie goer would have "not gotten it".

DarkXid, I never knew there were hobos in The Hobbit.  They must have had a very small part.  I'll have to go back and watch it again to see if I can catch them!  Were they panhandling and carrying those little knapsacks over their shoulders?

I want to know if they're going to a hfr release for the sequel too. I loved it in the first film so I hope so.

Anyway trailers are cool and all but anyone going to see a film just for the trailer needs mental help. They're released on the internet almost simultaneously if not before.

This is just a bonus

VTG the dwarves and Radagast were pretty damn close

VTGamehendge 6/8/2013 11:20:49 PM

Wise, they were indeed.  Lol
