Peter Jackson and Warner Brothers have released the first official teaser trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies. This will be our last time in Middle-earth Maniacs. Let's us hope that it is one hell of a ride!
The Official Synopsis: From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson comes "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," the third in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien.
"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town.
Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo's frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf, the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain.
As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide – unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.

The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies features Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, vangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, with Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, and Orlando Bloom.
The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies arrives December 17th, 2014.

Can't wait for this one...don't remember the book and how it ends but, this teaser was enough to wet my appetite once more.

And this is why we go to the movies!

Miner49er 7/28/2014 12:22:19 PM

They should have given Leonard Nimoy a cameo in this.

Does anyone know when the extended version of the secound hobbit is coming out? I've been in the moon to watch it. I c'ant wait to see this in HFR.

VioLatorr 7/28/2014 1:31:33 PM

 Miner- Why Leonard Nimoy?

Shellhead- yes.

SpideyBD 7/28/2014 2:30:48 PM

@VioLatorr Nimoy did the voiceover in the old animated hobbit movie! Ballad of Bilbo!

I honestly didn't notice a difference in the trailers.

Good though, can't wait.

I'm trying to post one for the foreign community we have. Often the US trailers are blocked for them. That includes Canada.

Shellhead, probably sometime in December.  But if it's anything like An Unexpected Journey I wouldn't expect a whole lot of extended time in the Desolation of Smaug Extended discs, maybe 10 minutes give or take.

mac2j 7/28/2014 8:52:03 PM

I think the extended is due around Thanksgiving...and:

At the end of his announcement of the name change for The Hobbit: There and Back Again he says, “And there’s also The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Extended Cut, which we’re in the process of finishing, with over 25 mins of new scenes, all scored with original music composed by Howard Shore.”
