On November 4th we got plethora of Hobbit footage, a new video production blog, and a killer poster (check out the character banners here). Check out all of those incredible Hobbit related items below. December 13th cannot get here soon enough!

Synopsis: The film continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. Having survived the beginning of their unexpected journey, the Company continues East, encountering along the way the skin-changer Beorn and a swarm of giant Spiders in the treacherous Mirkwood Forest. After escaping capture by the dangerous Woodland Elves, the Dwarves journey to Lake-town, and finally to the Lonely Mountain itself, where they must face the greatest danger of all—a creature more terrifying than any before, which will test not only the depth of their courage but the limits of their friendship and the wisdom of the journey itself—the Dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch).
The Hobbit: the Desolation of Smaug features Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, with Orlando Bloom and (in alphabetical order) John Bell, Manu Bennett, Lawrence Makoare, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Sylvester McCoy, Graham McTavish, Dean O’Gorman, Mikael Persbrandt, Antony Sher, and Aidan Turner.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug arrives December 13, 2013.

This is looking really great.  Better than an Unexpected Journey.

I could not be more excited for this. I wasn't as excited for this as I was for LOTR but after the first part PJ has changed that. These films take me to a place few others can or have

What a great way to wrap up the year

Not looking at posters, watching trailers, avoiding actor interviews or anything else remotely associated with this movie.  This is my most anticipated movie of the year.  As a kid I remember picking up this book and pretty much reading it without putting it down.

At least in this movie Smaug will meet his end, sadly the Battle of the five armies will be the cliffhanger ending for this movie. Question to all, do you think that in the third movie we will see the battle that took place in Erebor in the War of the Ring ?? it is said that this battle was instrumental in defeating Sauron because if this battle would have been lost Sauron would have gotten more reinforcements at Minas Tirith and the city would have been lost.
