Ya and if u think about it, and want these movies to be a lil more " truer to the source", then u should understand that the Hobbit SHOULD be a 3 movie-series, and the LOTR should have been like a 6 movie series. That's the best way to get the true "Epicness" of it all.

yeah, i remember seeing FOTR again after reading the book and even at 3 hrs the movie felt rushed.  even without the appendices and extra content, there was still so much that was left out.

Dude, the first time I saw FOTR, seeing it a month early in THX goodness, the Balrog's roar just about produced the "Brown note" South Park watchers will understand.

Probably a little late, but . . . The hobbit is a 240 page book.  A two hour script is like 70 pages.  Ther is definitely a difference between a novel and a script for sure, but ther is enough for two full length movies.  Then add in the apendices and your fine.  I know this has been said before in different words already, but there are the numbers.

Is it for more money on the part of the comapnies.  Of course, that's what they do, make movies for money.  Is it being made into three for Peter as a director to give the best story.  YES.  It's both and the material is there to do it, so not sure why there is an arguement at all.  Thos of you who think it will be long and boring then wait and rent it so you can fast forward.  I'm there opening day for better or for worse and I love Middle Earth.  Hell I've read the silmarillion 9 times, so maybe I am not a good person to ask about what is boring or not. HA

Oh but that said, I hope Peter doesn't add crap that shouldn't be there and take crazp away that should like he did in the last two LOTR movies.  Why add material when you have so much to work with.  Still loved them, that just confused me.

agreed almost.  i was a little confused in ROTK when frodo sent sam away.  yeah, i know, drama for a movie, but come on.  that did not need to happen.  and so on with several other scenes. so yeah, if things are added or deleted, way off the source material, then it gets a little disappointing.  but in peter we trust and i can't wait!
