Lionsgate has just dropped a new block of photos from the upcoming 'Punisher War Zone' movie.

Directed by Lexi Alexander, 'Punisher War Zone' feature Ray Stevenson as Marvel's skull-themed hero, Frank Castle who sets his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After Russoti is left horribly disfigured by Castle, he sets out for vengeance under his new alias: Jigsaw. With the "Punisher Task Force" hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw has recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished.

The film opens December 5th in theaters everywhere.

I'm really leary of this movie.  The color and tone of the photos and trailer just look cheap to me.  I hope I'm proven wrong.

Positive thinking man. I'm looking forward to this, I'm not expecting a masterpiece but I doubt I'll be disappointed. I like the look of the film so far.

You are a braver man than I wiseguy, when I saw every scene in the trailer was a different color I knew this was not the Punisher film I was told was being made. Does the Punisher really need theatrical lighting? I know this wont bother most people, but as a photographer and a comic fan it looks like garbage.

I don't understand why Hollywood can't get this movie right. I mean they have already made it a thousand times it just wasn't called the Punisher, it was Deathwish, Raw Deal, and countless other 70s & 80s revenge action flicks.

The rope scene in Boondock Saints was funny, it was a funny movie all around and I think probably the best "Punisher" flick we're gonna get. The same scene put in Punisher trailer looks ridiculous.

If this thing gets rave reviews I might catch on dvd.

Look the photos look great. I like the gritty feel and picture. It's not polished like the last film and nor it should. This is the Punisher brutal - badass and Fing your world up.

As a comic fan im going to enjoy this because this is the guy i've been reading about all these years in DC.  Not the crap we got in the last movie. They screwed up his whole origin too which pissed me off.

Jane was good but this one will capture the punisher as I know and love. Fan boys will always have something to complain about but this IS GOING TO BE THE BEST PUNISHER EVER AND WILL EVER GET. SO DEAL WITH IT SUCKAS! LOL

DC has been doing a Punisher comic book too?

BlindJustice 12/1/2008 6:49:14 PM

I think I read somewhere (maybe it was on C2F?) that the cinema photographer looked at the comics to set up the shots and the light scheme.Something about wanting the look of the shots to be as they were in the comic all the way down to the lighting.

Movie seems setup to fail with low theater count.

I liked the Jane movie and had high hopes for this one. But the more I see of this the less I want to go see it.... I think this might be a wait to rent movie for me.

They should have let Jonathan Hensleigh to do a sequel and let Thomas Jane remain as the Punisher.  Geez, JigSaw looks so low budget.
