Proving that one day every Stephen King novel, story, screenplay, grade school essay and shopping list ever written by the man will get optioned as a Hollywood movie, Dimension Films has plunked down some cash for the film rights to King's short story 1408. The story is about a successful horror writer who experiences his own real spooky event while staying in room 1408 of the Dolphin Hotel. Write what you know, Steve-O.
Screenwriter Matt Greenberg (HALLOWEEN: H20) gets to adapt King's tale into a feature film for producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
