According to Variety, Carol Burnett, Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, Isla Fisher, Dan Fogler, Amy Poehler, Dane Cook, Jaime Pressly and Jonah Hill have all signed on to lend their voices to the upcoming CGI film, Horton Hears a Who.  They will join previously cast Jim Carrey and Steve Carell.

The film is about an imaginative elephant who hears a cry for help coming from a tiny speck of dust floating through the air. Suspecting there may be life on that speck and despite a surrounding community which thinks he has lost his mind, Horton is determined to help.

Burnett will voice the role of the skeptical Kangaroo, Carrey will voice the title character and Carell will voice the role of the Mayor of Who-ville.

The film will be released on March 14, 2008.

KJ's Take:  Great voice cast, and based on a classic story ... what could possibly go wrong?!

Is that pic a test shot? Usually with animated films they base the character movement on the actors portraying them.

I like the way ti looks though, and the cast is great......doesn't mean the story is. I wanna see a trailer for this.

I do like the way it looks, I like the CGI, a lot better than the live action ones of recent. The Grinch and Cat in the Hat were both sub-par movies, I hope Horton can break the mold.

Please don't screw this up. I'm a huge Zeuss fan, I read pretty much all of these books to my girls all the time. I agree that neither the Grinch nor CITH were that great of movies, but I have to say I wouldn't mind seeing Anthony Hopkins attached to this, his voice is the perfect Zeuss narration voice. The beginning scene of Grinch with his voice over was great.

I doubted this project a while back. I will eat SOME of my words...MUNCH, MUNCH!! But, like theCOLLECTOR, I am STILL a little sceptical.

Even though this is a "kid's" story and based from a Dr. Zeus book, it's a pretty high concept story. Could anyone imagine someone like Charlie Kaufman adapting this story? It would be pretty crazy.

Why's everyone putting, well, not everyone, putting Dr.Zeus? Am I missing something? Not being an ass but two people did it? Just wondering. First time I figured typo but then someone else...blah, blah, blah.

Huh, you're right. It's Dr. Seuss. Is that better? Something seemed wrong when I looked at jmaxx's post, I just figured that there was one s, should have checked it. It's been a long time since I've read any of his books. Not really into them anymore.
