November 12, 2002... VARIETY notes that Bruce Willis is confirmed to star in HOSTAGE, an adaptation of the novel by Robert Crais. The project had originally been set for MGM but was moved to Revolution Studios by Cheyenne Enterprises, Willis' production company.

HOSTAGE recounts the tale of a retired hostage negotiator brought back from retirement to seek redemption after a traumatizing failure. [Variety.]

November 15, 2002... ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY reports that Bruce Willis will star in Revolution Studios' HOSTAGE.

In HOSTAGE, Willis is an ex-negotiator whose botched hostage situation continues to haunt him. In an effort to prove himself, he takes one last case, which involves the Mafia.

Willis and production partner Arnold Rifkin have signed on as producers. Currently, no director is attached.

Filming begins Fall, 2003. [Entertainment Weekly.]

January 8, 2004... Bruce Willis will star in HOSTAGE, a tense action film scheduled to start filming later this month. In the movie Willis plays Jeff Talley, a former LAPD hostage negotiator who left his job after a child was killed by a madman in a situation he was called in on. Talley takes up the job of chief of police for a small town but has to face his demons when a group of criminals take his wife and daughter hostage.



The movie is being directed by French helmer Florent Siri. Serena Scott-Thomas, Johnny Messner, Michelle Horn and Ben Foster also star in the film. The movie is being produced by Stratus Film and Cheyenne Enterprises, Willis' production company. [The Hollywood Reporter.]
