BATMAN 3 rumor and truth
MTV Splash Page is debunking online rumors that Christopher Nolan's recently announced seven-figure deal to direct his original concept 'Inception' is part of a two-picture package that would include a 'Dark Knight' sequel.
MTV News checked in with Nolan's reps who simply say "He is doing ‘Inception’ next. We haven’t announced any deal or anything on the next Batman as that is all speculation."
Meanwhile, IGN Movies has scanned recent Writers Guild of America paperwork and found Nolan's name attached to the work list for screenwriters for the planned sequel. In fact, Nolan's name is the only one to appear. Scripts for previous bat-films had been written and/or developed with Jonathan Nolan and David S. Goyer. Of course, all this is just early paperwork filed by the studios, which is not to say that more names can't be added later.
It does say, however, that the studio has some expectation that Nolan will begin work on a script for the movie at some point.
So the speculation continues...

WATCHMEN's Dr. Manhattan, Pre-CG
IESB.net has some nice photos of Billy Crudup working in his motion capture suit, side-by-side with the post renderings of Dr. Manhattan. They caution readers that the photos are Not Safe For Work because...you know...Dr. M doesn't feel like covering up his nuclear rod.

Vanessa Hudgens Dead@17?
'Dead @ 17' creator Josh Howard chatted with Comics on Comics podcast recently. During the audio interview Howard mentions that that Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing a cinema adaptation of his series from Viper Comics.
Apparently the suits favor 'High School Musical' leading lady Vanessa Hudgens for the lead role. She'd be playing teenager Nara Kilday who dies and returns from the grave to battle demons.
Mike Dougherty (of 'X2: X-Men United' and 'Superman Returns' fame) is writing the screenplay.

MARVEL SUPER HERO SQUAD on Cartoon Network
Variety reports that Marvel's pint-sized heroes for pint-sized viewers is coming to Cartoon Network as a new pint-sized toon show.
The pint-sized report states that Turner Networks has ordered 26 episodes of 'Marvel Super Hero Squad' in Captain America, Silver Surfer, Hulk, Wolverine and Iron Man will team up to fight crime. The show id due on the air later this year.
Voice talent will include Tom Kenny ("SpongeBob SquarePants"), Charlie Adler ("Transformers"), Steve Blum ("Wolverine and the X-Men") and Grey DeLisle ("The Fairly OddParents," "The Replacements").
Once again Spider-Man is missing from the Marvel toon fold. Presumably the web-slinger is wrapped up in a TV pact with Sony which prevents Marvel from using him elsewhere. He currently appears in the 'Spectacular Spider-Man' show.
So Vanessa would be the next Buffy in a sense -- a brunette slaying bad, bad monsters from Hell.
I'd see it.
Could it include a shower scene? A really long one?
Cause, you know, fighting dead things is a dirty business.
