Vivendi Universal Games has shipped THE HULK video game to stores nationwide. The game serves as a non-canon sequel to Ang Lee's forthcoming HULK movie, hitting theaters on June 20.
In the game Bruce Banner is still seeking a means to control his violent alter-ego. Hoping to separate the Hulk from himself, Banner enlists the aid of his mentor Professor Crawford, only to be betrayed. Now the secret creating more gamma-mutated creatures has fallen into the hands of The Leader, a classic HULK villain who was also transformed by gamma radiation into a green-skilled, cold-blooded genius. Gamers will face adversaries from Marvel's HULK comic book as well as new creations designed specifically for the movie and the game.
One interesting aspect of gameplay is the ability to interact with the environment. For example, when you play as the Hulk you can pick up cars and throw them against the sides of buildings. Glass will break and fragment, walls impacted by objects will display damage and items such as pipes, barrels and boxes will roll and break apart.
The game features 25 expansive levels. You've also got 40 different attack moves you can inflict on your opponents. And yes, you can play as either puny Banner or the savage Hulk.
THE HULK is available for the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Gamecube for $49.99, and for the PC for $29.99. The game has received a Teen rating by the ESRB.
