Human Target Canceled

Fox Cancels Human Target before Up-Front Presentation.

By Jarrod Sarafin     May 11, 2011
Source: Fox, Hollywood Reporter

A week before the networks officially reveal their up-fronts for next fall, Fox has revealed they've picked up a few new shows and canceled some others. One of those receiving the axe is "Human Target," says the Hollywood Reporter. Fox adds to its series pickups with dramas Alcatraz and The Finder.

"Alcatraz" is from J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Prods. and Warner Bros. TV, is a crime drama revolving around Alcatraz and the team investigating the mysterious reappearance of its 1960s inhabitants in the present. The latter, a Bones spinoff from sister studio 20th TV, centers on a military-trained "finder" (Geoff Stults) who helps locate lost items or persons in the Florida Keys.

Alcatraz gained early buzz and a fan in Fox's Peter Rice, according to sources, though some questioned whether the net had room for another mystery drama with Abrams' Fringe already on the schedule. For its part, The Finder, which recently rolled out as a back-door pilot, won high marks internally, particularly by those who wanted to find a way to continue the Bones franchise once the long-running --and thus pricey- original ends.

To make room, one source with knowledge of the situation says drama "Human Target" has been canceled.

Thanks to Chopsaki for the submission.

Human Target wasn't great, but it was getting a lot better and the last few episodes really shined. It amazes me that Fox will cancel shows with incredible potential yet keep on the most idiotic animated shows (the whole Sunday lineup) ever made and the worst half-hour comedies on TV. Considering how they scren up comic book properties I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

This typical Fox.  They do this all the time.  Look at shows like Firefly or John Doe... but we can sure bet there will be another spin off from Family Guy

Ilsa Puchi killed the show.

Given the numerous, mostly ill-considered changes between the gnerally excellent first season and its second, I am not surprise, but I am saddened.  The cast and its audience deserved better.

Maybe if they would've stick to being closer to the original material, more people would've watched it....not surprised this is cancelled.

Never watched a single episode. Comic book based and comic book superhero based are two entirely different things, no interest in the former

I read that they cancelled their order for Locke and Key also. Read the first arc but personally it didn't appeal to me that much

I just want to see Terra Nova. I wonder how patient Fox will be with that show given that it's supposed to be pretty pricey
