@CoolerKing - Maybe we FF4 fans give a shit? If they do this, I will be just as disappointed as if they made Falcon or Rhodey white.

I really don't see the problem. It doesn't matter whether Johnny is black, native American, or white as long as the actor chosen for the role does a good job at bringing the role to life. When the hell did the fan base of Marvel get so damn racist?

CoolerKing 5/2/2013 9:36:23 AM

Nobody complained when Nolan cast a white guy to play Bane in TDKR. Bane is south american in the comics and the cartoons.

I had no plans to see this anyway, and if he gets the part it will be just another reason to ignore it. I'll just chalk it up to the ass brains at Fux pissing all over the FF again. Hey if they make Johnny Storm black why not just make Ben Grimm gay while you're at it.

@chrismidkiff - I, personally, am NOT racist.  for example, Morgan Freenman nd Denzel Washington are two of my most favorite actors of all time.  I am just sick and tired of Fox being meddlesome dicks and fucking with the comics like they do not matter.

What would YOU say if they made Black Panther or Luke Cage white? Huh? What would you say then? Would that be racist? Because if you say it is racist then you are a god damned hypocrite.

Should I give a history lesson of how things were back in the days when all super hero's were WHITE!!! I don't give a flying hoot about sticking to the script it was all racist. You guys are serious fans I understand but your not comprehedning the pyschology of how messed up it was that black kids had no superheor's to look up to. Sure later on they brought in Black Panther, Storm, Blade, War Machine, Luke Cage and today we have a Blatino Spider-man. What FOX is doing is called doing the right thing. They are setting things the way they should have been. Growing up I did not have a black super hero to admire all my favorites were white and thats including Superdog! When we talk about race we need to be aware that racism still exists and it is perpetuated when folks like YOU on this site blast studios for casting African Americans in ICONIC WHITE ROLES!!!!! Can you please allow black folks to have a little of what was not around bakc in the day for us. We went through Salvery and Jim Crow and now we still face hardships. Can we please have a little recognition. This is not reperations this is just reality. We are all humans and we are the only humans know in this galaxy. Why are we so hell bent on classifying and hating. It is a comic book and you guys are already hating the adaptation for the big screen because they MAY???? cast a black actor in the role of a white super hero? Will they change Human Torches race in the comics? Doubtful! So what is all of this hatred for these steps forward in our world. This is not a white white world as it was portrayed in comics. Can we be more self aware of the things we are writing and saying. We need to move forwards people not backwards and this is another step forward.

It just gets on my nerves when they do stuff like this.  Lack of diversity in comics created 50 plus years ago can not be fixed by forcing diversity in the cinema.  That said, I'm not sure I really care either.  I was never a big FF fan until the Ulitmate title.  Just seemed like a corny idea to me.  I'm also not sure a GOOD FF movie can ever be made.  it would have to have just the right feel to it.  People would complain if it were too dark, undermining the family feel of the book, and people would complain if it were too campy, undermining the threat they are up against.  I don't know...
