Screenwriter Mark Protosevich has hinted to the La Times that a sequel to the upcoming I AM LEGEND has been pitched to Warner Bros. A lot of factors come into play on whether it's approved. First and foremost, the success of the original starring Will Smith (who portrays Robert Neville) is the number #1 factor before the sequel is greenlit.

I AM LEGEND hits theaters December 14, 2007.

Rumor Mill: It's expected that the full DARK KNIGHT trailer will be attached to this film.

Sequel?!?

WTF?

Anyone that's read the book knows that there can't be a sequel.

The full Dark Knight trailer better be attached to it, that's the main reason I'm looking foward to see this film. The teaser was great, describing the JOker and then Ledger's laugh at the end. Sweet.
On the sequel talk, I want to see the film, haven't read the book so I dont know if there can be a sequel or not but I'm guessing the guy has an idea for it meaning they will probably alter the ending of the movie. If it's good I'm all for it, I like Will Smith.

Are we actually discussing whether a big budget hollywood film starring the fresh prince of bel-aire and based on a book that has no part 2 yet but is about vampires and the end of the world featuring the alleged last human being on earth can have a sequel?

Im waiting for the bourne sequels that are actually based on the books.

Sonyman, I'll bet you swallow,
The fresh prince of bel air has grown up and is a DAMN good actor. I don't think that would be an issue when discussing a sequel.
Will Smith =Great actor (sure he's done a few stinkers, Wild Wild West, BUT he's done some amazing fils as well. Too many to list actually)
Will Smith= $$$ for studios
And I haven't even heard of this book, but the trailer for the movie looks cool. If someone writes a sequel why wouldn't they want to sign Smith for it.
Hanso,
I also hope they put the full trailer for TDK on this film. The only thing that dissapointed me at the simpsons was no TDK trailer

Well, judging from the Teaser trailer for this movie, it looks pretty damn cool. If it is a good movie, I am all for a sequal. I really loved Constantine, so I think this should be good. As far as the book not having a sequal, for whatever reason, I think they can work around that. It has happened before, and it will happen again.

daforce...I sure hope you did not give away a big spoiler to I am Legend? I have not read the book and have no idea how it ends but the way you put it makes its sound like there is no one alive to continue the story...If that's the case you f*cked it up for me...

This story was also made by Charlton Heston into a movie in 1971. It was called "The Omega Man". Cool movie. One thing that I saw in the preview for I Am Legend is that he is driving a Mustang around the city. Omega Man starts off the same way with Heston driving a 1969-1970 Mustang around the city. Omega Man was worth the watch. but I think with new special effect and Wil Smith this movie will be awesome. And remember this is Hollywood. They WILL change the book. And put a twist on the ending to leave it open for sequel.

Damn, can't a mofo see the first one before they come out with a damn sequel? damn!

MercurialHyperbole • Aug 01, 2007, 08:44pm •
I guess the third time is not a charm because this news, the word "vampire" never being used, and the trailer pretty much confirm this will be yet again a failure to bring everything that is cool about the book to the screen.

next please.
