Willis definitely isn't the draw he used to be. His last few starring roles have all opened in the $7M-$11M range (not including "Sin City" which was more of an ensemble film, and so different that it's pretty much an exception to every rule). I'm guessing the upcoming "Die Hard 4.0" will be an attempt at a comeback, since the franchise is synonymous with Willis. Althought I have to agree that "Lucky Number Sleven" has a title which works against it in the box office. I saw "Ice Age 2" this weekend which was an OK movie for a matinee. I liked it a bit better than the first movie. I never embraced the characters like the characters in most of the Pixar movies, but the CGI is some of the best I've seen to date - the ice, the water, the fur, etc., strikes a nice balance between cartoony and realistic. It's too bad "Slither" has already dropped out of the top ten. I saw that one last weekend, it was an entertaining B-movie, incorporating bits and pieces of every other horror B-movie out there. I think what hurt it most is that it looked too much like the made-for-SCIFI monster movie of the week, but it was much better than those. I suspect it'll do quite well when it hits DVD.

I didn't go to the movies this past weekend. Which has been no surprise since about December. I didn't think Basic Instinct 2 would do really well, but wow did that baby flop. This weekend has Hard Candy and The Notorious Bette Page opening and I'm planning on checking out both. To complete the perv-trifecta, Kinky Boots also comes out, which I'll be skipping.

I saw Ice Age 2, didn't think it was as good as the first, but cute and kids loved it (6 and 7). As for willis, older they get less they take in. It's sad but true. Ok wessmith, this is for you. I've had this thought on here before about Portman, but I guess you didn't read it. So here we go. No one can act their way out of a paper bag. It's fight your way out of a wet paper bag. That's the saying. How could someone get into a paper bag, let alone act there way out of it. The bag certianly won't do anything just because they are an exceptional actor. Just explain to me how this works. That said. I'd be willing to try to act my way out of one if A. the bag was large enough for me to stand in B. the bag was wet so I could beat my way out of it just in case I failed to act my way out. and C. there would need to be a hole so I could breath. Please people, we need to draw the line somewhere. Let's use famous sayings the way they should be used. It's ok wessmith, keep trying. You know the saying. If at first you don't succeed so much for sky diving.

P.S. the opinions of almostunbiased are less than 1% biased and therefore can not always be taken seriously. Though really acting out of a paper bag, come on.

What are your recommendations for whether or not to see Inside Man and/or Lucky Number Sleven? Also, do their plots include paper bags?
