It's been rumored for weeks now that stage actor Benjamin Walker has been cast in Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class movie. Initial reports from Showbiz411 had him pegged for the role of Hank McCoy (aka The Beast), while Deadline said that Walker is in the movie, but not as McCoy.
Now, the UK's Daily Mail adds an interesting wrinkle to Walker's story. They claim Walker was, in fact, signed on for the role of the Beast. However, Fox apparently wanted to release Walker from his contract since, at 26, he was too close to the age of Michael Fassbinder and James McAvoy, who are playing Magneto and Professor X.
Then, confusing the issue further, Fox had trouble finding a suitable replacement and allegedly re-offered the role to Walker.
The Daily Mail claims that at this point Walker is definitely off the movie.
G4's Attack of the Show had a fun segment with Isaiah Mustafa, who you may know as the hyper-capable macho man in the new wave of Old Spice commercials.
They devote the segment to looking behind the scenes of the latest spot, but towards the end Mustafa reveals his superhero ambitions.
"I'm a comic junkie, myself. Please get this thing going. I want to be Luke Cage," the actor said. Fans are then encouraged to support Mustafa's bid via Twitter. So we can add him to the list that includes such names as Jennifer Love Hewitt, David Glover and James Preston Rogers of actors using the social web to try to land superhero roles.
In the mean time, look for more of the actor in upcoming Old Spice Commercials, as well as the just-filming Free Enterprise 2.

A number of photos and videos are emerging from the set of Transformers 3 in Chicago.
First up, Coming Soon has shots of Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley getting in and out of cars under the direction of Michael Bay.
Then, you can click over to Ain't it Cool for some images of a crater impact that's been constructed for the shoot.
Most interesting is this video of an interior set that's mounted on a massive gimbal that is capable of titling one end some 40 feet in the air. We're guessing Shia and company are going to be inside getting thrown around in some sort of Autobot instigated mayhem.

A handful of new images from the set of Conan have appeared online, making a better case for Jason Momoa in the lead role than the previous ones we've seen.
A number of action images, featuring the barbarian in conflict with some kind of flipping albino warrior have surfaced on a Jason Momoa fan site. Click through to view the entire set.
A more impressive shot comes from a magazine photo from a foreign-language market. It was revealed on the message boards at Conan.com, but a cleaned up version (which eliminates the binding seam from the magazine) has been making the rounds.
