Sony Picture Imageworks has landed the job of providing the special effects for Bryan Singer's SUPERMAN RETURNS. Mark Stetson (PETER PAN, CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE) will act as the film's visual effects supervisor. The Hollywood Reporter states the picture has a need for about 800 effect shots, about the same number that SPIDER-MAN 2 had.
Filming is still scheduled to begin on SUPERMAN RETURNS early next year in Australia, with Brandon Routh slated to play the Man of Steel.
