What They Say
A new teacher is in town, but she is no ordinary one. She is a night-dweller who preys on men. In return for orgasmic pleasure through intercourse, she devours their souls. Knowing about her cursed blood, a secret society hunts for her blood for the ceremony that is to come.
Is Sayoko a human, a demon, or perhaps a messiah? What connection does she have with the government? What are these people that hunt for her blood? What are they trying to achieve from the ceremony? "My blood, it's lusting for a man. This is why I hate the full moon."The Review!
When Sayoko comes to town as a new teacher, she's more than happy to tease the boys as she has a deep dark secret.Audio:
For our primary viewing session, we listened to this show in its original language of Japanese. No English language adaptation was produced for this release so it's kept to the original language with subtitles. Similar to many other adult releases, there isn't anything particularly noteworthy about this mix but it comes across well and is generally free of problems. Outside of a few action moments and some minor music, it's mostly just dialogue and moaning which is generally done through the center channel in a full manner. We didn't have any problems with dropouts or distortions during regular playback.Video:
Originally released in 2003 and 2004, the transfer for the two OVA episodes is presented in its original full frame aspect ratio. The end result here is one that has some noticeable problems to it. Overall, the show has a very soft and muted look to it which doesn't help much, but it also has a fair amount of dot crawl throughout it. Some areas are more noticeable than others, such as a background where the edges of a building are just bustling, or when there's blood on the ground and you can see the dot crawl all around it. It is generally free of things such as cross coloration and much in the way of aliasing, but it's not a good clean image.Packaging:
Letting you know exactly what you're in for, the front cover provides a shot of the very busty Sayoko in her red bondage outfit that lets her show a lot of skin. Similar to other JapanX releases, there's plenty of logos and words around the cover, such as "Larry Flynt Proudly Presents", the Hustler logo, the JapanX logo and even a weird looking DVD logo. Even the runtime is put on the front in fairly decent sized font. It's all very cluttered and distracting. The back cover is a bit more standard from what we expect as it provides a rundown of the discs features before going into the summary and a few shots from the show. The cover does indicate bonus footage but nothing is to be found on the disc. The bottom portion of the cover has the technical grid which covers everything else in solid detail. No insert was provided with this release.Menu:
The menu layout is pretty simple with a close-up shot of Sayoko in her red bondage gear along the right while the left side has a big moon where the navigation menu resides. Set to a brief loop of music, the menu has a bad reload to it in that it does everything when it reloads instead of just re-looping the music. There isn't a lot to the disc here other than the show so subtitle selections are at the top level and episode selections just takes you to the scene selection. Access times are decent and due to there being only one language, our player presets were a non-issue.Extras:

Immorality is the latest release from JapanX but one that uses some tried and true story methods. Using the very big chest character designs, it takes us to the school world but one where things aren't quite as they seem. Something sinister is going on at this school and Sayoko is more involved than anyone could believe.
The show revolves around the newly arrived teacher, Sayoko, at your standard academy. Her introduction with the principal and staff is amusing right from the start as they're very explicit that she should not be having sex with the students. That's already a problem since she had her way with a couple of them just the night before down in the busy bright lights district. The vice principal, a young but harsh looking blonde woman, provides some seriously mixed signals when she grabs at her during the meeting. That only sets Sayoko to needing sex right away and she's off racing down the hall, skirt hiked up high, looking for some virile young studs to do her as she needs. There isn't any subtlety here.
Immorality takes a somewhat different turn when she's with her latest round of young studs as they start feeling rather odd after a couple of rounds of sex. The lads can't resist getting more but Sayoko is the type that drains them of their energy, leaving behind little more than a pair of husks. It's from here that we learn of something decidedly more complex but poorly executed as there are assassinations going on and bigger plans by those in control of the school. Mix in a young stud that has fallen for Sayoko but doesn't manage to get into her bed and a red latex bondage outfit that Sayoko uses to go on her hunts and it's all over the map here. The plot used to hold it all together is fairly nonsensical in the long run and woefully incomplete at the end of the second episode.
There wasn't much appeal with this show right from the start due to the character designs and their large breasted women. There's simply something about these designs, particularly when combined with the soft color palette, that just isn't enjoyable. The designs are competent for what they are but they don't do a thing for me. Even worse, there's a fair bit of water works throughout the two episodes and a couple of hermaphrodites thrown in for good measure. Immorality simply doesn't know what it wants to be and just tries to be a number of things.
JapanX's release still has some of the same problems as their past ones, notably in the subtitles. Punctuation is often spaced out past the last letter, some words run together or are improperly spaced. Toss in a couple of mis-spellings as well and it just leaves you feeling like this is a very incomplete or rushed release. In Summary:
For my enjoyment, Immorality has almost nothing going for it and it left me pretty bored. Between unappealing character designs, poor subtitles and an overall average and uninteresting overall design, it wasn't even able to at least provide an interesting plot. There wasn't much here that kept me interested and I probably spent more time looking at the countdown timer than anything else. While there are certainly people who will enjoy this, I didn't and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
