meh... the aliens from ID4 were one of the LEAST interesting parts of that movie. The ships annihilating the world and gazilliions of ships poring out of the mother ships... now, that's why we went to see it. desert warfare? meh

I really loved the first one in the theaters, but when it was released on vhs and I watched it at home, I realized how absolutely horrible it was. I was blown away by the spectacle in theaters, but at home I actually paid attention to silly things like the story and acting. Wow it was so terrible. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Emerich makes crap, and there is no reason to believe otherwise in tis case.

How many end of the world movies can hollywood muster? Smith will wisely turn this down and it will be another bland end of the world story.

this could b cool.. or could be a freekin disaster!!  I hope they get will smith to return, if they dont they better have a damn good plot to this movie!! Either way its goin to be a brand new movie at this point, so many years later!!

Smith is not needed. His shuckin' and jivin' has worn thin. Have his character killed off in backstory involving a mishap caused by promoting his woefully inept son into position of trust and responsibility.
