Paramount Home Entertainment has finally made it official and given Indiana Jones fans a date to circle on their calendars: on November 4 all three INDIANA JONES films will be released on DVD, with a special bonus disc included as part of a special collection.
THE ADVENTURES OF INDIANA JONES: THE COMPLETE DVD MOVIE COLLECTION will only be available as a set; the INDY movies will not be sold individually. Each of the movies (RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM and INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE) will be digitally remastered and restored, as well as recorded with new Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks.
The bonus disc will contain approximately 4 hours of bonus material. New interviews with all of the main creators, such as Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford, will be filmed along with other cast members. The possibility exists that deleted material from the films may also be included on the disc.
"If you ever (visit) Indiana Jones fan sites and see what their expectations are, I think we will fully meet those expectations and go beyond that," said Jim Ward, Lucasfilm vice president of marketing.
The Indy DVD collection is expected to be sold at around $50.
