This title is a bit strange, but aren't most hentai?
Audio: There are essentially the two languages of Japanese and English on these two discs. I've watched both in their entirety and saw no drop outs or any noticeable problems. Yet...
Video: Here's the strange thing: There are three different videos on each of these two discs. There's 'English', 'Japanese with English subtitles' and 'English with English subtitles.' In essence, that means there is 90 minutes worth of show on rach of these two DVDs. This, most likely, is why it's across two DVDs instead of one. If both episodes (with all three versions each) were on one disc, I can imagine some noticeable degradations.
Packaging: This is where things fall. I won't repeat what the packaging says, as it is listed above. BUT, the descriptions are way off for the first episode. I'll note the differences in the content. Otherwise, the box has the art of the first disc's case. The back has selected pics from the two cases, one per story. The first disc case has the two victims with 'shadows' of themselves behind. At first, I thought it was motion, but it's probably not. The second disc has the two girls of the disc together, whereas the first had them separate.
Neither had an insert or on-disc art.
Menu: The background shows the provocatively dressed woman in a shadow. while a spiral makes up the rest. The 'eye' tentacles fly around a bit before one takes up a good portion the screen. It then shows images of one of the episodes within the white area of the eye. Each selection has an 'eye' tentcale behind it.
Extras: Both discs had the same extras. First, there's a slideshow of Asia Carrera and her car. The other is a video interview with Asia with various scenes added in to show off her various... assets. There is also a set of previews on the reverse side of each disc.
Content: (May contain spoilers)
My first statement is that I don't do the 'motions' like most do. My hands stay my sides.
With that out of the way...
These two episodes are each split in half, making four short stories. All four include NC in one form or another. In another sense, these four stories are just 'sketches' or 'doodles' that were animated. They are just situations that someone thought up in their spare time, as compared to how someone will doodle during class or during meetings.
The provocative woman is nothing more, actually, than the string that holds them together. Her involvement is about the only thing that makes this a 'series.'
On another note, I found it hard to feel sorry for the characters in this BS (that's BS as in Boxset, not Bull****). I watch these, and know these characters for only 15 minutes. I'll never see them again, so I don't really mind what happens to them.
That's not to say it wasn't enjoyable to see... ^_^
But if it was a well-established character, say Tsukino Usagi, Yuki Miaka, or Tenjou Utena, THEN I'd sure as hell care. I'd probably have Takeuchi Naoko, Yu Watase, and the creator of Utena right behind me, banging on doors.
But, these are characters that I've just met and have a third-person relation to. I can't feel sorry for them, even if they do get raped.
As I said, the descriptions are different. They're exaggerated to get you interested. The first one says that "Yuumi is raped by a sexual molester on her way to school. She can't cry out. He violently molests her over and over again." The rest of the description is accurate. BUT, Yuumi wasn't exactly 'raped.' It was NC, but rape would suggest entry which was not there, as it was just 'foreplay.'
The second description goes like this: "The haughty woman fashion designer blames a subordinate who makes a mistake." This is true, but this is exaggerated: "Soon, she becomes imprisoned, totally nude, inside of the public phone telephone booth." The rest is accurate, however. While it is true she was quite exposed while she was in that phone booth, 'totally nude' stretches things. It was like a pervert with a sheers, to tell you the truth.
The first two were actually better than the second two. The second two used a bit more self-pleasure than the first two (second had none and the first just a minute), which may be why.
As stated, I was not offended by this because I do not know these characters. It was probably intended that way for that reason. I think, in reflection, it was a good idea to make these short so that people can't grow attached. Yet, in most, it leaves you hanging hanging with a question. The only exception was the second, which was wrapped up nicely.
Nothing is revealed about the provocative woman. Yet, in doing so, leaves the door open for more Inmu volumes.
In conclusion, if you're in need of a quick fix of hentai, Inmu can give it to you. It's easy to rewatch too, since it's so short. Another reason, perhaps?
And, for only $40 for two discs...
