Is Kevin Smith finally ready to anchor his tentpole? Miramax Films announced last week that Smith would write and direct "The Green Hornet" as his next film; the potential franchise starter could begin production as soon as this summer, with the goal of an August 2005 release.
There's no cast or budget, but expect both to be big. Miramax spent $3 million just to pick up the project out of turnaround at Universal, and actors on Smith's wish list include George Clooney and Jet Li.
