A new international trailer for the upcoming IRON MAN film has appeared online. It's shorter than the original trailer and the only source found at the immediate moment is at youtube but it does feature scenes not shown in the domestic footage spawned from the San Diego Comic Con. The film, directed by Jon Favreau, stars Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, Shaun Toub, Leslie Bibb, Bill Smitrovich and Nazanin Boniadi.

IRON MAN hits theaters May 2, 2008.

Loved the trailer... and the music... can't wait... I can rememeber a rumor about Mandarin, is he still in this?

Yeah, it looks good. I'll watch it for sure.
I have to admit, I'm not much of a comic-nut, but some of the comic-based movies have been really good the last few years. This looks like another good one.

Madmanic I agree with you. I really believe this movie is going to surprise people on how good it's going to be. As for Mandarin I think Favreau said that he would be the main villain but I did read somewhere after that that the Iron Monger would be in it also. Either way it's a win-win situation. It seems that this crew knows how to keep a secret.

I believe Favreau has said that, once they began getting into the nuts & bolts of the story, they decided not to go with Mandarin as the primary. But that if you watch closely, there is set-up for him in the sequels. Possibly as a behind-the-scenes manipulator of the events of the first movie. I must say I agree that Iron Monger is the better way to go for the first movie. Just works better in terms of realistic portrayals and appeal to mass non-comics audiences.

I read somewhere that Favreau wants to do a trilogy (if the first film does well) with the Mandarin as the overall third film villain who controls the actions of the villains in the first two films from behind the scenes. I'll see it regardless of who the villain is, next to The Dark Knight this is the movie I'm most excited about next summer!

They better have him flying otherwise that will totally suck. I hope they show him even if its in the very end taking off in his orange and yellow suit and flying away.

Umm... they show him flying in the red & gold suit in the trailer.

gauleyboy420 • Nov 05, 2007, 04:41pm •
Favreau has already said (on some blog somewhere) that IRON MAN will fly in this movie. The reports that he won't were apparently bogus rumor

Robert Downey JR...bad choice....catch it on HBO.....it will suck
